Website is the most widely adopted source for search and LLMs. API as a service would be cool, but try telling SMB owners what an api is...not gonna happen at scale.

The best reason I've heard to need a website is that you have complete control over what someone sees there, unlike other channels like social.

If argue that microsites are good for fast execution when the campaign is timed-based. It can then be merged with the main domain later.

I think the future is likely to be 1) an AI agent connected to your company's social media. You'll have a conversation with the agent to decide if you want to buy, and it will go from saying hello all the way to taking payment with no handoff. Next, I think we will have 2) sending your personal assistant agent to go talk with all of the company agents and come back with recommendations. In other words, marketing will be AI2AI. Our job will not be to convince the human. It will be to convince the trusted personal assistant agent.

Good question! I'm curious too. From what I've seen it still works to get the lead, but it's keeping the lead engaged and taking action that is important.
