Excellent recipe, young lady. I tried it a couple of times and it tasted excellent. Just one boo boo though, I overcooked the mathanga. Maybe I shouldn't pressure cook the mathanga with the payars. The Canadian (or Jamaican or Costa Rican) pumpkin is too soft. Just a note for other N.Americans.

@ Uma Nambisan, each locality/ community have their own version of dishes. Erissery made in north Kerala is very different from central or south Kerala. I shared our way of making Erissery. For generations we have been making this way. Thank you 😊

ഞാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന കുക്കർ 3 ലിറ്ററിന്റെ ആണ്. മാഡം ഒന്നോ, രണ്ടോ വിസിൽ വന്നശേഷം ലോഫ്ളൈമിൽ 10 മിനിറ്റ് (മത്തങ്ങാ, പരിപ്പ് ),കടല 15 or 20 മിനിറ്റ് വേവിക്കാനാണ് പറയുന്നത് ? പക്ഷെ ഞാൻ കടല രണ്ട് വിസിലിനുശേഷം ലോഫ്ളൈമിൽ 5 മിനിറ്റും, പരിപ്പ് ലോഫ്ളൈമിൽ 3 or 4 മിനിറ്റും മാത്രമേ വേവിക്കാറുള്ളു? കുക്കർ അപ്പോൾ തന്നെ തുറക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. വേവ് പാകമായിരിക്കും. അപ്പോ എനിക്കൊരു സംശയം, ഇനി മാഡത്തിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കുക്കർ ചാത്തന്റെ ഉപദ്രവം വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടോ...?
