"I don't have a race, I just have a *concept* of a race" is hilarious; nicely done 👌

Mathas saying "God I hate Ed" is the craziest shit that I've ever heard on this podcast and I sat through all four green stone episodes.

I remember my first exposure to Lemuria, it was from the PC-98 game E.V.O:The theory of Evolution. That game went so off the rails the moment Dinosaur Lucifer was introduced. If you have the time and means then try it out. It's an old-school top down turn based RPG game that was only released in Japan with a crazy ending that no sane person would ever see coming

The first time I heard of Hyperboria was Conan the Barbarian, so Robert E Howard wrote his own world and used some esoteric stuff from a bunch of different cultures and cults for world building
@MiLikesVidsАй бұрын
Hyperborea was one country in Howard's Hyborian Age- Hyborians being barbarian descendants from Atlantis who overthrew Acheron, roughly the lands covering Aquilonia to Nemedia. Lemuria in the far east sank in the same cataclysm. Their survivors become the Hyrkanians among other nomadic barbarians of his Hyborian Age. Howard's essay on the Hyborian Age is a great piece of world building whose purpose was to create a setting that he could tell his adventure tales without worrying about historical accuracy which he cared a lot about when writing his historical fiction. I expect a lot of the catastrophe causation was also thanks to Ignatius Donnely's work like Atlantis The Antediluvian World which in its day was as influential on fringe thinkers as Blavatsky.

I always enjoy the episodes about old, dumb, new-age pseudo-science stuff. I would love to see an episode covering the Shaver Mystery! Atlans! Deros! Giant women!

There are a lot of sunken lands, like Doggerland, that were flooded at the end of the ice age, so it isn't actually that far fetched to think that there may have been some land around Madagascar connecting it to India at one time. I don't know how well they knew the ocean depths at that time.
9:43 "C'mon, it's like The Magic Schoolbus but for stupider shit" Mathas giving the perfect tagline for Chilluminati :'D

Tom Jones isn't just British, he's Welsh. Which is notable as not a huge amount of internationally acclaimed talent comes out of Wales. Tom Jones is also one of the most beloved singers of all time, so being compared to him is an honour.

The thing about lost continents is that noone truly knows. Lemuria is plausible bc lemurs only exist on Madagascar, which would've connected to India according to the theory. But what about the "eye of the Sahara" located on Mauritania, Africa? Supposed to be Atlantis, not Lemuria. Idk, it's all just interesting to me. Except for theosophy. Blavatsky was a racist, and a liar. One of her masters was obviously named after a Hume, btw.
