say, I've had a question about how high to get points in a certain category. let's say you do a strength build, is it worth going over 60? or going over the arcane, same there? like using a weapon that has both scaling in arcane/int/faith and dexterity/strength, what should be the limit of one before going for the other?

I wish death blight had some PvE effect, obviously a instant kill would be too strong, but maybe a decent chunk of damage like bleed with the thorns bursting out of the model even if they aren't raised on the spike.

If it were my call, boss battles and other large or non-humanoid enemies would get a minor bleed/frost like hp explosion, with the thorn effects obviously, but without being impaled by the Shrike from the Hyperion Cantos. Meanwhile, common humanoid enemies, such as wandering soldiers and knights would experience the instant death burst. But this would still, of course, be a bit over the top. Probably.

Maybe it could be similar to frost, except instead of lowering defense, it slows enemies down? Like how Rogier became immobilized after being Deathblighted. So bleed would just be a damage pop, frost would be a damage pop + defense debuff, and deathblight would be a damage pop + speed debuff.

Same for madness. It is really lame how few enemies can actually be afflicted by madness and virtually none can be hit with deathblight.

On the note of "crossbow gets mainhand's buff," I found flame of the redmanes AoW will apply, at the very least, black flame blade's black flame debuff. Don't know if this is significant or not

My theory was that the property transfer glitch only worked with a buffed weapon in the main hand, and gear in the off hand that had an ash of war that takes priority, like crossbows or shields. The fact that the same weapon that takes the buff also transfers the property to the ash of war is confusing to me. Maybe because they are both fire? Should check if it works bloodflame maybe or with other buffs in general?

Why the crossbow is one of the most broken things out right now you can instant effect almost anything with that thing with any status effect in the game. For example you can stack Frost and rot or poison or whatever inflict the enemy and then hit it with a bleed build instantly delete almost anything in the game. Just apply status with the crossbow switch to a power stencing bleed curve sword or dual blade and you pretty much only need to do one jump attack after you inflict them with the crossbow

@@ElJayEmCee that's perfectly understandable I wasn't really talking about dueling as much as I was talking about in general use, that's what I meant by most anything in the game. I can understand the confusion my bad. I wouldn't be worrying about rot or poison in duels but to be honest as far as unfair I'd prefer someone using the crossbow against me then power dancing that weapon all you have to do is strafe side to side and you will Dodge that crossbow you get caught in with one of those clouds then a jumping attack your tits up

have you tried using this with the Sword of Milos' ash of war which reduces all damage negation and status resistances for nearby foes. Would have loved to see how much of a difference the status negation debuff would make.

I already encountered this build in an lvl 30 +6 invasion. The host held me hostage with backstabbing be while I got blighted. Wich resulted in an animation lock, because as soon as I got up from the ground I got blighted from the game again. That basically made me his hostage because he was backstabbing me with his fist... Let's say it wasn't fun.

I am a serious fan of death blight, it’s such a cool status effect and, balanced by its slow buildup, it makes decent builds. Would be great if more weapons could get it, such as death blight buffs or ashes.

I’ve discovered that death blight nullifies the Sacrificial Twig talisman and Twiggy Cracked tear. I was blighted by the Death Blight Giant and still lost all my tunes.

I had somebody pinged this in my discord like I didn't know about this build after making a video on it myself. But you really only need the base requirements for the shotel and the pulleybow because you can't really increase the deathblight buildup however you can use an equip load flask or high endurance and carry multiple pulleybows. The build is pretty easy to counter, they have to be pretty close to you to even land more bolts after landing a sleep, and you need about 9-10 bolts to get a deathblight. And all of this is prevented by uses the respective boluses and a ring that boost vitality will let you take another 5-6 bolts I bet. I think Ive seen people Iframe the deathblight proc too but I am not sure because most people dont even know what this build does when I used it.

I found that using St. Trina's torch you can do something similar Hard to pull off but using the torch skill with your coated shotel builds deathblight really fast

Honestly with how high damage output is in this game I don’t know why there aren’t more ways to apply death blight, like you said you pretty much have to use it unupgraded to even get it to proc. Even without without minmaxing it’s dps, you will still always kill before it procs.

ok so I went and used some robots and spreadsheets and... lowest weight for 61 poise comes from omen greaves and veteran's chest to save points in endurance keeping in theme I kept sacred scorpion charm, despite disagreeing with the downside, and the rest of the talismans, which I think are fine but I switched two fingers heirloom for green turtle talisman, for the smexy stam recovery this, with a single exlipse shotel in hand, only requires 14 endurance!! saving a whole 16 points over the build you're using (also pls switch your seal to something that weighs nothing, erdtree seal or frenzied flame seal) the cost of the weapon art itself is only 16 FP so you only need 11 mind to cross 80 fp, to use it 5 times in a row which is why you want to start on samurai: and you can allocate stats like this 60-vigor 11-mind(minimmum) 14-endurance 12-strength(minimum) 40-dexterity 9-intelligence(minimum) 50-faith 8-arcane(minimum) why 40/50 in power stats instead of 50/40 as shown in the video? SlugBot did calculations, and this way you get higher AR if you want to wield 2 eclipse shotels, move 2 points from dexterity to endurance. if you want to wield the crossbow you'll want to start with vagabond instead, and drop dexterity all the way down to 34, and get 17 endurance and the 16 strength required for the repeating/pulley crossbow and if you want both extra weapons you'll need 19 endurance, which will cost more points from dexterity (these last few claims haven't been confirmed by a robot, so it might be more optimal for ar to start dropping points from faith, but I doubt it)
