Could you send the cops? Oh no! She just fell through the roof! Should prolly send an ambulence, too.😮💨"

Okay, context for the chaos gremlin: Amanda's character is Meryl's daughter and she's getting married. She wants her father to walk her down the aisle and she finds her mother's old journal, showing that there would be three possible candidates. She invites all three in the belief that she would 'just know' when meeting them who her father is. As anyone can guess, hi-jinks ensue. And the people around Meryl during 'Mamma Mia' are her 'Greek chorus'. 😄😄 So she technically can't see them in that instance. (Side note, the 'guy with a piano in his boat' is Benny Andersson!!)

The basic plot of the film is that Amanda plays Meryl’s daughter who is about to get married. In the lead up she finds her mom’s old diary and invites the three men from her mother’s past who could potentially be her father-that way she has her bases covered and, no matter which one her dad is, he’s at her wedding! The first song was the mother finding out that her three ex-boyfriends are in town, the second was the groom to be being whisked off for his bachelor party, the third was the big “let’s just have fun” song from the end of the film, and the third was the mom’s friends encouraging her to relax and have some fun-like she did when she was young

I was in a production of Mamma Mia for my high school and it was the most fun I’ve had during a show!!! We could embrace every mistake because it felt like a part of the show and it was so fun! Our cast was incredible and that show has become very dear to my heart! To boil down what is happening in the songs kinda: Mamma Mia - The three guys are the potential fathers of Amanda’s character (Sophie). (Meryl is the mother) so when she sees them like that, that’s how she remembers them from when she knew them. She also doesn’t want to interact with them because she doesn’t actually know which of them is Sophie’s dad. And they didn’t know that Donna was sleeping with all of them. Lay All Your Love on Me - The guy (Skye) is Sophie’s fiancé. The guys that come in are part of Skye’s bachelor party/groomsmen. Waterloo - The end song. It is a performance from Donna and the Dynamos with Harry, Bill, and Sam to (presumably) Sofie, Skye, friends and the audience. Dancing Queen - Rosie, Tanya (the two friends) and Meryl (Donna) were all in a band called Donna and the Dynamos. Then Donna got pregnant and the band broke up. Tanya and Rosie are trying to get Donna to relive those days and loosen up a little. I think that’s all of them! You should watch the entire movie. It will make so much more sense!! 😂😂

Here is some context, basically they took all of these famous ABBA songs and created an entire musical around it so that now all of the songs fit into the story and it's like any other musical where the songs are part of the story story they help guide the story along and tell a story so they change the lyrics or change the way things sounded slightly so that it fit with the Narrative of the movie and the plot so basically it goes from one song to another with a whole bunch of like scenes in between and the reason it's not like this big production like you said where it's just like people are singing it's because that's exactly what it is it's any other musical where people are just talking it's a regular movie scene and then they start singing Basically the same as any other musical you'd see and they've done it so that it's not the big production inside a booth it feels more like people are just breaking into song which makes it feel really rare and realistic. I highly recommend watching the movie, I absolutely love your out of context videos they're so hilarious, but I also love when you go back and watch the film or TV show afterwards and get context for what you watched because I always love to see if it changes the way you felt beforewhen you made the ad of context video or if you feel differently after seeing in context, either way I'd love to see your reaction to mamma Mia and maybe even mamma Mia too compared to your out of context reaction and see if you still feel the same way that you did when watching these songs or if you actually feel differently now that you know the context.

if you decide to do a part two of this you should check out the “Honey,Honey” scene it’s the first (second?) song of the musical and provides some much needed context to some of the plot, bonus Amanda Seyfried sings it !!

I have no clue if she has enough songs from shows and movies for this, but it could be fun to have a video reacting to Meryl Streep songs from various shows and movies.

I will say, Meryl's rendition of "Winner Takes it All" in this movie is absolutely gorgeous.

Mamma Mia has such a special place in my heart, this movie is such a rare gem where the entire cast actually had a great time filming together and it truly comes across in the film because you can just feel the joy from them all🥰 also I'm sure you hear this a lot with your reactions but you have to watch the movie to understand everything that's happening, but overall it's just a very sweet feel good movie! (P.S. Donna and her friends could never be cringe, they're truly the coolest women of all time I adore them)

If you want more Meryl Streep I suggest The PROM, her performance of "It's not about me" should be studied in history classes istg

20:06 the man playing the piano is actually Benny Andersson, one of the members of ABBA and who co-wrote the songs

Words cannot explain how happy I am that you're reacting to this movie/musical. Me, my mother, and my siblings watch this movie at least once every year, It's the only family bonding activity we have. This movie is so comforting to me and I'm so happy to share the joy with my favorite reaction KZbinr! PLEASE add "Slipping Through My Fingers" and "The Winner Takes It All," they are the best songs in the first movie in my opinion! Honorable mention to "SOS". They really show off Meryl's vocals and the emotion she can put into a song.

The 2 old ladies are Meryll Streep’s character’s best friends since childhood and they did a singing band together. This is them reliving those times. They also made a second Mama Mia movie in which Lily James plays Meryll Streep when she was younger

I know how to break people's mind easily with this movie. One of Donna's friend in the movie is played by the woman playing Ms Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise.
