1:59:09 there is a naming convention Pinkie pie is a pie because that’s her family name however her family are stone collectors her sister is named maud pie. Diamond tiara comes from a rich family her father is filthly rich and her mother is spoiled rich (but her previous name was spoiled milk) apple bloom has no connection to apples and she was worried about it when she was a child but now she understands it’s ok not to be in the family business, like babs seed is a stylist. Shifon swirl took on the name Mrs cake because she preferred that name once married. Parents tend to name children a “household name” and sometimes that name doesn’t fit their future sometimes it does. Others go vague as you mentioned but most change their names after marriage to the family name. It’s complicated but think of it like this. Twilight sparkle has a brother named shining armor. This lends to the idea that their household name is something to do with sparkling or shining. Believing their son will grow up to become a guard they named him armor, twilight was meant to enter into celestas magic school so twilight was fitting to mark her possibility to tutor under celesta. These names could have been wrong and shining armor, could have been a blacksmith or a dentist. The name could have been vague in its title only for him to marry into a family of that trade and choose to change his name to shining teeth or shining weapon. It’s complicated but it works in the world.

When it comes to Pony names, there wasn't really any rhyme or reason originally as it was just a kids show. But for MLP: FIM there does seem to be a common practice for pony naming. Pony's don't have surnames like humans, but in MLP:FIM they do often have a name that matches their family theme. For example Apple Jack's family theme is apples and farming. Rainbow Dash's family is about competitiveness and/or sports. Rarity's family theme is expensive things and/or Luxury. Etc. One of the few exceptions of this being Pinky Pie who comes from a stone/rock family. But her whole existence is supposed to be weird and contradictory, so I think that's probably why she's an exception.

31:02 I don’t think people realize exactly what twilight just did with that beach ball. Because what she did is actually more terrifying than I think anybody realizes. The tele-fragged ball. She used the teleportation spell and chose the inside of the ball as the point she was going to appear in. The ball exploding is because it was suddenly being filled with not just her, but the displaced air around her. That is terrifying, because it means that she has enough accuracy with her teleportation ability to choose a singular point as opposed to a specific location. She teleported into the ball.

At the end of the season where Starlight is reformed, there were sooooo many people in the community that thought Starlight just took over Ponyville and the next season would start out as everyone there was in a stasis and Celestia would have to save the day or something. Big Mac was sick I forgot how they deepened her voice but Fluttershy was so obviously shy that it was difficult for her to sing on stage. So to fix this they had her perform as Big MacIntosh which worked until obviously the stage was tackled down. She eventually embraced her real voice hence the ending.

Man, I don't cry a lot, but the end of mlp:fim-- I just couldn't. Right beside Ben 10, mlp was a cornerstone of my childhood. I wasn't even halfway tbrough the finale the first time around when I had to shut it off. I could feel the tears welling, and I was not ready to bawl, not yet. In fact, I'm still not ready. I've only watched the full thing in parts, days a part from each other.

@@PerillaBug Respectfully, I have to disagree. Ponyville in episode 1-2 was having the Summer Sun celebration, then Nightmare Moon came back after her 1,000 year sentence. Then, in season 4, episode 1, the ponies all go back to Ponyville, leaving Twilight to have to help plan the Summer Sun Celebration again, this time in Canterlot. That was most certainly not 1,000 years, more like one. It became a holiday to celebrate Nightmare Moon being banished, and it’s celebrated on that night every year. Respectfully, I think you may be getting confused. Also, while it is valid to say the Summer Sun Celebration was made to celebrate Nightmare Moon’s defeat, it’s also equally valid to say it also celebrates the first day of summer, as that is also true.
