I loved how he knew to shut it down when the young boy was standing on his belief. Sometimes you gotta use the wisdom that comes only with time and knowledge and let people believe what they want they'll learn in their own time. Until then he'll remain stuck as a signed artist because these labels do know what it takes however like Mecc said they will not spend that type of money today like back in the day to produce an artist organically. They just don't have to they have hundreds of other whores/artists to pimp that are gonna be the new hot Bih's on the strip that will make that paper. It's a Pimp and Hoe game and artist better know what they're signing up for.

Let me start off by saying I’m a civilian so my comment is based off an outsider looking in, trying to put myself in other people’s shoes to try and understand… But putting out a vulnerable drill album makes the most sense in the world to me. Cause it seems like, people in these situations are going through constant trauma and I kno there’s the argument, is the music making it worse? But music is a reflection of an environment. People putting their pain into the art form to release it. The taunting from one side to another looks like one side feeling pain and trying to remind another side feel that pain in return. And I understand sometimes people listen to music to pump them up sometimes. Maybe you’re heart is t a cold empty space but you’ve put yourself into a situation that you feel like there’s no other option now. So you listen to music to harden your heart and do what you think you need to. I understand the dilemma. In one scenario the music is pulling someone out of that lifestyle to create a better life for themselves and the others around them. But then some of the content is poking wounds for others that feel some type of get back is required because it opens wounds on their side…. Idk what the answer is but music is a reflection of life. But I kno there’s the always the question of does art imitate life or does life imitate art…

@BKbomber92 yeah it's like selling crack and saying my kids are being fed.
@SlapDevils11 ай бұрын
@TB-mj7gt that maybe a good analogy but one flaw wit that is drugs actually kill ppl..the music itself doesn't it certain ppl who were already beefing who happen to put certain things in records..but over the content is the same as back I'm the it just wasn't called "drill" ...the same argument ppl have with drill is the same argument older generations had when they felt hip hop changed when NWA/onyx came around
@TB-mj7gt11 ай бұрын
@BKbomber92 nah the music different now. Speaking on the dead calling out the opposite on wax was not something that was happening in hip hop. Yeah everybody talked their shiii but nobody was calling out the other side. "If you aint GDK(Gangsta Disciple Killer) what the F you doing wit me" that's straight out Fivio's mouth and a direct shot to any Gangster Disciple. How is that not promoting violence. Blast that in the wrong hood and u might not leave. Hip hop wasn't like that. It was gangsta music that everybody could vibe too. Thats very different from onyx just saying "throw your guns in the air"

We need to officially dead the violent music scapegoating. We know what the REAL problems are, and they haven't changed in decades or centuries in some cases. White hysteria blamed video games/ Marilyn Manson/NWA/ anything outside the status quo of white standard supremacy for issues instead of addressing the issues they know VERY well to be the problem. Black people have NEVER been, in any way/shape/form/ the root of any issue in our community or this nation as a whole especially. We can absolutely do better and will have to solve many issues on our own, but we should never not be 100% certain as to the true ROOT of our issues. Period. Salute to Fivio! You're already certified. Your album was underappreciated. You got better features and rap/bar showings than MANY pop hip hop stars today and you got a long and successful future ahead. Stay safe, stay blessed, and stay dangerous when you need to, until you don't! Love. And props to all the others who spoke in this episode Many good ideas and true forward thinking on how to bring real, LASTING positivity to the culture. Make being smart cool. Promote that too. Bridge the gap between the Maths and Fivios and the other great blacks Like Degrasse Tyson (or MANY others that are just as intelligent as him. I know he is BK bred, but his ticket cost a bit more) from our community. not to try to solve everything in one show, just to show that we are a world unto ourselves. Being Black or the culture doesnt just mean the streets. It means being black and achieving greatness you seek to despite our struggles, no matter what form that greatness manifests itself as. We have TONS of black scientists but their only peers or community is their academic or work one. They ALL know very well that at the end of the day though, they are Black, but they are more isolated than any of us I would say. We need to truly assemble by reaching out to regroup and show that we appreciate EVERY ONE of us.

Just cuz Fivio thinks it's a trash song, it doesn't mean the song is trash. That's just his opinion. %0cent aint like Many Men off his Get Rich or Die tryin album, and Tony Yayo loved it and told him to put it out. Many men is one of mine and a lot of others top song off the album. Music is art, and the artist doesn't always think his art is beautiful because art is a moment and he might have liked it in it's moment of inception, and disliked it the monemt it was done. The artist is allowed to be unbiased when discussing even their own music, some might say they should be cristical especially of their own art.

In the YSL trial they didn’t bring LeBron up to make LeBron look bad. They were trying to say, look at this respectable man LeBron doing this, it’s just entertainment. It doesn’t make you a gang member just because you make these gestures… that was what they were trying to prove in defense on YT having a bunch of pictures or videos wiping his nose or making certain hand gestures… it wasn’t an attack on LeBron or other celebrities. Gangsta music/drill is the devil on your shoulder, wether or not you listen to it depends on how strong the angel on your other shoulder is. If you decide to squash beef drill music WILL make you reconsider wether or not you should do something about it. A lot of people are not fit to be parents. We need to force parents through parenting courses so they can strengthen that angel on the shoulder of they kids.
