Royce is one of the best rappers alive BUT he was extremely disrespectful to rappers he didn't consider a threat so two of those rappers, Mickey Factz and Lupe, got in the booth and proved they are indeed threats and frankly hurt Royces feelings. Royce then got on IG and whined about it, which was not a good look. He should not have been so arrogant and disrespectful in the first place if he can't take getting dissed without threatening violence. It was embarrassing. But he's still one of the best rappers ever.

The beef gave me a chance to rediscover Lupe. Listened to him for while like 8 years ago but since then I’ve been sleeping. He’s insanely good. Royce is good, listened to most of his records, but Lupe’s just on a different level. To make a rude comparison, in some ways it’s like the difference between Mos and Talib Kweli. Talib’s lyrically dope, very informed and often with a sharp and poignant perspective. But you can tell it comes from a good work ethic. Whereas Mos is just on a wholly different level, his speech is just more honest in itself, and he paints pictures that just gets you to a different space in your thoughts. I get the same with Lupe, it feels less about performing well as much as expressing one’s actual life-world as truthfully as possible.

Around the 8 minute mark everyone proves Mickey's point. Most of the time it's everyone else that wants to see the two rappers beef. Everyone in the shop is speculating and projecting their own feeling around being disrespected when The Lox and Dipset already spoke on this and had no issue at all in the heat of the moment. The rappers themselves have made this clear and now the media and everyone's people make it a potential problem. Not intentionally, of course.

No Royce actually swung with silence of the lamda and displayed some very dope lyrical content, ryme patterns was crazy but it didn't come off as a usual did track going at you trying to knock your block off. He kept it pg and just displayed skills how I see it. Lupe came back with a chip on his shoulder which I think spiraled from the no shirt conversation they had and he went in directly dissing. Then Mick chimed in after after hearing his name in lamda song. All dope emcees btw. Matter of fact got another dope emcee in the background blacksmith who I watched grow up in my street. Put the Field on the Map young man. We routing for Ya!
@liedz_3 жыл бұрын
That's a very lazy narrative man. Royce didn't pick no damn fight and the point wasn't to diss each other, he mentioned Lupe in Silence of the Lambda because Lu did a 9min freestyle on Royce after the top less live where Lu spoke reckless to Royce and Royce called him him a bitch (slip of a tounge, understandable). SOTL was a lyrical display also checking that(very important) 9min freestyle on Royce's name. I think everyone knows if he wanted to diss Lu personally it wouldn't have been a damn problem (stop fronting on 5'9). Mickey wanted in because that sun chips line was very far from addressing him (so Royce gave it to him coz he asked about it) he was looking for an excuse if you ask me. Beef is not what Royce wants and those diss tracks are suggesting that we're not cool and anything can happen if you come at me personally like that. I hope this makes sense.

From what I saw from the interaction between Lupe fiasco and Royce da 5'9 is, Royce misunderstood something that Lupe was saying and he thought that he was talking crap to him, but he was actually saying overall it doesn't matter who it is I battle. Royce thought he was talking crap and tough guy talk to him, so he responded by calling him a b**** because he knows that he's not a gangster, and because of that he decided to straight go with disrespect because he knew that Lupe wouldn't respond, since he's not like that and if he did that means when we see each other it's going to be on. Its sad cause supposedly they were real cool with each other but misunderstandings get people killed in life, and that's why people need to listen and not be so fast to respond, instead of letting people clarify they wanna just jump off the cliff

@@warispeaceignoranceisstren704 Never saying Lupe is soft but he's not on that vibe so he knows he won't respond the same way.

@@warispeaceignoranceisstren704 My point is my post which you responded to. Should I copy and paste so you can read it again? Since you seem to know these people personally how your talking. Mickey is one of my faves but he's too smart to act like he doesn't understand what went wrong. Royce cracked jokes on guys he thought of as friends/guys he's cool with. Mickey and Lupe were attacking Royce character and throwing actual insults.

He's been nasty, since kick push. Always had very vivid lyricism, go look at the words I never Said. I went to rock the bells to see rage and Wu-Tang back when I was 16 from a surprise for my sister. He was there promoting loop end.. I think. Didn't even know he was going to be there. Wu-tang, R.A.T.M., public enemy, Cypress Hill, Pharaoh's monarch, brother ali, Murs, atmosphere and slug, sage Francis, and Lupe!!! Best ishh I've ever seen If you listen to especially anything from back then you can see how much of a vernacular MC he is. I'm glad the ishh popped off. I was just watching him live 2 months ago thinking I wish people who saw him for how ill he is the way they looked at him back when kick push came out because honestly he deserves it. I sing in the song write, play four instruments. When you see the clarity and thought from a lyricist at a level like he is. It makes you realize why you love doing it in the first place! All the love~Lex

….. I am literally the only person going to be factual about this? “The reason this went left” is because Lupe came in the live with his shirt off and disrespected Royce because he thought Royce was the one amping the battle between the two, because OTHER people (mook and lux) called him…. Royce tried to correct him in that live but Lupe would not listen said one more disrespectful thing and then Royce said cooooool…. THAT IS LITERALLY WHAT HAPPENED….. 😐. Clowns…. Lol
@LeanieSigel3 жыл бұрын
I saw that live me personally I think Royce was trippin too. Lupe looked more funny coming into the live that way then threatening or disrespectful. Royce the one that took “Lupe” of all ppl serious like let’s be forreal look at how Lupe was looking what’s threatening about that? Lol and I like Lupe but aggressive isint his forte Royce took that personal. And secondly Lupe went to his own live and started freestyling for a half hour about a bunch of random shit he clearly wasn’t serious he was trolling and Royce was acting too serious that’s what happened to me..
