Absolutely. An old woman see me kicking in the neighbors door and calls the cops isn't snitching on me. A kid walking by witnesses me kicking the door and police ask him if I'm the guy he isn't snitching on me. Now me and my friend who kicked the door in if he gets caught up and says my name in any way is snitching. For 1 you're supposed to stfu and not even snitch on yourself all lawyers 1st advice to clients guilty or not is don't say a damn thing yet. Most times cops only have circumstantial evidence or enough to question you not nearly enough to justify trial(that's where plea deals come in.) Also this is before social media has influenced everyone to tell their crimes and cameras were everywhere. My brother did 4yrs of a 9yr sentence because of a snitching ass co-defendant. My bro and 2 co-defendants the snitch and my brother is who the interest was in for ONE case they pulled that "we just want to talk to you" we went in and my brother didn't come out for 9MTH when he finally got bond, what we didn't know is Chris the Snitch had already when in there and told everything. Soon as we got there Detective goes "where's your friend?.... you know the big guy?" The description of the other Co-D they didn't even know about him the snitch went in and gave him up as well "yeah and he had the gun." Even if he gave himself up he gave them a prize they didn't even know they wanted. In the end he didn't even get himself off he snitched and still did the time, the other Co-D was solid he took his time like a man even tried to say my brother had nothing to do with it(he was the only 1 with a kid at the time) he got 20 with a minimum of 12 and he did 12 door to door only got out right before the pandemic had hit. The snitch got like a 12 do 10 with parole my bro got the least they all took pleas and my bro had his dropped from armed robbery to robbery since he never admitted to having a gun or anything for that matter. The other 2 admitted to using a gun so they weren't dropping the armed charge. Worst part was the Detective admitted after how they didn't have anything and if it wasn't for the snitch they'd had been free. Of 3 charges only 1 witness and she wasn't willing to appear in court so there was zero evidence at all to even bring to court.

It's levels to snitching lol. I had to snitch to protect myself once. I had a ex who didn't take me leaving him well sat outside crib, circled my house. I had 500 text in one day numerous messages saying he'd light my crib up. Cops do nothing so I got a protection order. He still lurks but I'm at peace with it now that I have that piece of paper. That way when I'm explaining myself to the judge I have documentation proving self defense. I hated being in that courtroom but, I needed to protect myself in the court of law.
