what is mathieu a fantastic rider he always attacks and is one of the best riders ever. pogacar is ofcourse the best climber but in those 1 day races mathieu is the best of them all he wins more then van aert for example

@@RobGrenzendicht i saw a different race then you then. i saw a lot of power on van aert, closely following VDP every attack whilst never wasting too much energy. In fact i'm not sure VDP closes on Van Aert without that puncture. As i think they were about equal today.

L'enfer du Nord qui a encore une fois montré son côté cruel. Mais c'est la course et c'est pour ça qu'on l'aime. C'était une échappée royale avec que des hommes forts! Tellement dommage pour van Aert, qui méritait d'aller jouer le sprint avec MVDP. Mais c'est la course. Philipsen a été MONSTRUEUX ! Un jeune bourré de talent, finir 2e malgré tous le travail qu'il a fait pour son leader c'est trop fort! Triste pour Degenkolb qui a fait une course magnifique, en étant dans la roue des meilleurs, il a montré toute son expérience sur cette course.

@@geuros Did we watch the same race? MVDP had a clear gap, he went for it but Philipsen closed at the last minute. Unfortunate, but that's racing. Also, the Dutch champion has been the most active rider throughout the course, attacking, always at the front, pulling even when he wasn't supposed to... and you are telling me he won because of a puncture? What are you even talking about? He literally is the one that deserves the win the most.

I’m quite neutral, but what I saw was MVDP attacking all the time not Wout. So It sounds a bit weird saying Wout was the strongest by far. Based on what? The look on his face? MVDP did everything perfect and cycled one of his strongest races. Wout getting a flat tire was unlucky for him, but it doesn’t take anything away from the victory of MVDP.

@@shawndev3901 every time Mathieu attacked Wout was on his wheel and pulled him back easily, Mathieu had spent a lot of time on the front so had Wout not punctured it would have been an epic finale and my money was on Wout as he would have lots in reserve. Not gonna detract anything from Mathieu, you need the chops to capitalise and pull it off, which he did, just felt gutted that it ended that way as I’m a huge fan of both.
