This video is my attempt at the 2019 AP Statistics Free Response problem #6.
This problem required you to understand how samples represent populations and a deep understanding of sampling distributions which is demonstrated through bootstrapping. It is very similar to a problem from my book shown here: • Inferential Conclusion...
If you want to learn move about part c, this video has a similar example: • Sampling Distribution ...
My AP Statistics Practice Book has 100 problems (all with KZbin videos) and can be bought on Amazon: amzn.to/2LidOCW
If you are looking for a good gift for an AP Statistics teacher, how about a Normal Distribution Rubber Stamp: amzn.to/2KFP2vm
The problem this video discusses is copyrighted by The College Board and therefor not show in the video. To see this problems: apstudent.coll...

Great, and thank you! For part (e), I believe that there are 188 medians greater than 2950, not 95 as you have in your calculation, so you should get [15000-(408+188)]/15000 = 14404/15000 = .9603 for your answer, which would then carry through to part (f).

Eric, I also got 188 for the rents above $2,950. Small mathematical mistake. I recon would still receive max points.

Yes he did it wrong he should have added the frequencies below 2950 What I did was I added the frequencies for 2500 and 2950, and everything in between, and then put that over 15000 and I got 96.03%

Agree with 96% confidence interval, fellow AP Stats teachers.

Okay so I put the data into my calculator and based the sample means on a normal distribution and then i wrote down the mean and the standard deviation to use the InvNorm function to find the 5th and 95th percentile on the normal curve of the data.

that what i DID!!! and i got a 99.7 % confidence interval. Hopefully i got partial credit

@@gradecracker crap i got 90.665 confidence interval and my interval like 4 or 5 units wide so ummmmmm i dont know

@@gradecracker my statistics teacher said either approach could be taken because we can generally approximate normality due to large sample size and then fine the mean and standard deviation to find the percent of data on the normal curve but not in the data it self i have no CLUE

In part e, the problem asks for the percentage of values EQUAL TO or between so don't we include all the 2500's and 2950's?
