OMG! I am 51 years young and still struggle with counting numbers quickly. Why weren't we taught this in school? I feel like a pro now. Can't wait to learn the multiplications faster now. Thank you for sharing this in layman's terms also I really appreciate it.

How you making out in math now?
@armorvestrus4119 Жыл бұрын
It worked the seem for me when adding large numbers. I hardly ever make a blunder now just because of those wonderful ( 0 ) place holders. And I am older then you. I always messed up trying to carry over the ones, but now no problems. I always add from left to right now. My teacher wouldn't let me do it that way in school I know now that my grades would have been much better.

You're a great example of how math should be taught in schools .... unfortunately most teachers just vomit the text book

No wonder math was my favorite subject in school. I was really good at it. I have watched 2 of your videos and noticed that I taught myself how to count this way. I thought everybody did it this way. I feel so proud. Well anyways, I am homeschooling my kids. At this moment they are learning their addition facts. I was looking for something that will make it easier for them. I'm happy I found your channel. Thank you.

I find it so fascinating. To one group of people (myself included) this is a revelation and truly transformative. To another, it comes completely naturally without being taught or pointed out at all. It’s all to do with how our individual brains process information. Despite being ‘naturally’ bright with excellent exam technique and strategy (not taught), I always struggled with maths and particularly mental maths. It’s easy to feel superior or ‘clever’ when things come naturally to you but I love it when people teach others strategies to help them. It’s one of the hardest things I think to disseminate and break down exactly what’s involved in what comes naturally to others. So I THANK you!

Math is a game or interesting puzzle so who feels playing math game , finds it interesting they actually find this kinds of tricks by themselves and more they practice it becomes more easy to count.

the part about how to do it in your head faster .7:30 if you just visualize it and see the numbers and not waste time using words to explain stuff then you can do it much faster words are just meaningless symbols or sounds we made up to communicate to each other , but when communicating with yourself their unnecessary because of how long they take to say ,even though the idea could be represented instantly. that's also the reason abbreviations exist because saying 'LAUGH OUT LOUD' takes too long while 'LOL 'can be instant but a picture that means lol (like emoji's) is even faster. (i did not focus on grammar in this comment)

Thank you for your uploaded video..to this I would like to add some thing...if u r adding a number to 9 or 8 or 7 or 6. what will u do?....you know 9=10-1 right,then if u add a number to 9(single digit) just minus 1 from the number and put 1 in front of it(no: obtained after deducting 1 from number .Hence answer will be 9+7=16(7-1 and put 1 in front of the number)then 8,8=10-2.Hence if u add a number ,for example 6,just minus 2 from 6 and put 1 in front of the answer.7=10-3, numbr-3,put 1infrnt

Question: on the math problem 7, 1, 4 , 5, 3, 7, 9 @ time 9:38 ... wouldn't it be faster to do 7, 3, then 1, 4, 5, then 7,9....10/20/36, can visualize through the whole math problem instead of adding +4, +5, +7, you can visually see the whole problem better if you can combine the lesser numbers to 10 first or second. of course depending on the length of the math problem.

I did the 6+2+2+5+9 differently, and I feel like it better demonstrates what this video is about, I know that 6 is one away from 5. 5+5=10 and 9+1=10 and 2+2=4 so 10+10+4=24 Essentially 6+2+2+5+9 = 1+5+2+2+5+9
