Okay, so I'm 45 and finding myself starting school from scratch to further my career. I used to be EXCELLENT at math in high school. I went up to calculus. Math feels so foreign to me, now. The very first explanation you gave on what proportion is was SO GOOD. I'm going to explore this channel!

Thank you for your teaching. In the numbers rational propotions they can also be solved in this way Ex: 3/5 =X/15 X=9 3/5 Molt 5X3=15 Molt 3X3=9 X=9 2EX : 1/2= X/6 2x3=6 3x1= 3 [X =3

I would do the pre-calculus and high school which will set you up for calculus in college. And then I would also take statistics in college which will definitely be required for your degree. Good luck on your studies! Jason

Could you cross multiply to solve these problems?
@MathAndScience3 жыл бұрын
Yes you could - however I don't like teaching it because cross multiplying hides what you are actually doing, and it is only applicable to this specific type of equation. What I am showing you here is "real" algebra and these skills will be used basically forever going forward solving more complex problems. I don't like "one off" solution techniques where you don't know why it works - here you understand exactly why every step works. Jason
