If students respected teachers they could become great teachers but the constant discipline issues makes it difficult for many new teachers to evolve into great educators. It's a disease in society that teachers are seen as babysitters while parents work peacefully without the constant disrespect and disruption of their children.
It's confirmed, the only reason I hated chemistry until now was because my teachers weren't good enough,, he's so dedicated in what he's doing - earned my respect...

Brandon Colley Why??
@rebeccalucas60636 жыл бұрын
Brandon Colley I think that most teachers either don't fully understand it themselves, or they hate their jobs, so they try too many shortcuts, and it hurts the students in the long run. If a teacher hates their job, it's time for another career! Jason has many DVDs that explain things in the simplest terms. He should travel to high schools and community colleges, or do webinars, to teach the teachers how to SIMPLIFY and dummy it down so students don't get lost or discouraged. The problem with schools and colleges is, they are forced to cover so many chapters in so little time that's it is pretty much "ready or not, we're moving on, if you didn't get it, too bad, you'll have to retake the course". Once you lose that one part, you're lost, and it's game over. Jason's courses should be a continuing education requirement for all instructors in order to keep their teaching certifications.

@theepigram72526 жыл бұрын
I've watched probably a dozen basic chemistry videos these last two weeks, and read about just as many written explanations. I could not find anyone who would clearly and precisely define elements and molecules. This one came the closest and I was able to pick out the last few pieces of the puzzle I was missing by some of the things stated in this video. Thank you! From my assessment, I see about three different uses of the term 'element'. In one sense, it merely refers to "a type of atom". This is an individualistic definition. In another definition, the term is used in collective sense, and refers to an unspecified collection of atoms all of the same kind (e.g. describing a jar filled with nitrogen gas). In another sense, the term 'element' refers to the groups that these kinds of atoms naturally form (e.g. nitrogen atoms tend to naturally pair up, forming a molecule, and constituting what we call a 'diatomic element'). In summary, the term 'element' can refer to an individual atom, a general collection of similar atoms, or the specific molecules those atoms are likely to live within. Took me two solid weeks to hammer that out. And please anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I HATED school so much because I was so scared of getting whooped at school by the teachers for not getting the passing grades, now in a different country and as an adult with no beatings, studying has now become one of my favorite things to do. Thanking you for dedicating yourself to us because now I can understand what I missed in school. Thank you .

There are no bad students , just bad teachers. They don't know how to teach that is what cause kids don't want to learn. I wish every teacher a good as this one.

Going into junior year, and I always couldn’t get science classes. Last year my teacher wasn’t bad; I just couldn’t understand well myself. So instead of struggling, I’m going to try to learn, so that when junior year starts I have a great understanding and can finally understand! This dude is actually really good :) I’ll definitely be watching a video everyday >:)

I've been studying for the HESI exam, and I have been out of school for 15 years. You have been the most helpful. You have made it so clear, and I'm no longer as scared to learn chemistry. You are a great teacher. I feel the passion in your work. You gave me a lot of motivation! I wish biology videos were just as good as this! Thank you again!

Make a note please 1. Large number of homogeneous molecules constitute element 2. Large number of heterogeneous molecules constitute compound. 3. Element is not same as atom. 4. Compound is not same as molecule. 5. In Chemistry, based on its composition matter is described as element or compound or complex or mixture.

Thanks for that extra oomf of explanation. Very helpful. Chemistry is concerned with precision! I'm retired, homeschooling myself Chemistry and Unit 1, Ch 1 of the book I got explained compound in such a way that I think of them as SPECIFIC RECIPES of molecules. I.e., you MUST have 12 of A and 33 of B to get C, which will weigh 45. 5 of A and 40 of B will NOT make C even tho it's 45. COMPOUND, a dependable new thing.

Wow. I am blown away. I am soon starting middle school, and I am astonished at how much this simple video helped me. I have watched many other videos of this amazing series and I’m starting to gain confidence in chemistry. I’m sure these will help out when I actually start school. Thank you, as you have blessed our eyes with education my lousy teachers simply can’t recreate. We need more people like you, people who are passionate to teach instead of being forced to.

I am an incoming grad student and just received my bachelor degree. During my high school studies, my chemistry teacher rarely managed to explain things well and just told us to memories all the stuff. Moreover, he spoke the local dialect I'm which I can barely understand. As a result, I screwed up in the final examination. Now that I have a chance to rework it once again after so many years. Thank v you sir.

This is Sept of 2023 and this is the BEST teaching method. I'm taking online classes bc I didn't have a choice and I don't like the way my teacher teaches the class. she only explains by the book and This video takes step by step and shows me things that I didn't know that they don't teach in class.... Thank you. From MD.

I have never had a second of chemistry education in all my life. I am now completing a Master of Public Health having come from a business background. I was so daunted when I started a chapter on chemistry. I found your video by searching KZbin for introductory videos about chemistry. I just want to say that you are brilliant. It takes great skill to take a complex concept and explain it in a simple manner. You give me hope that I can understand this topic, THANK YOU! Please keep up this wonderful service to humanity. Brilliant teachers are few and far between - saying this as a past academic myself.
