True. Outside of quests, it only makes YOU feel bad😅
@leithaziz2716 Жыл бұрын
Dragonrot was scaled back heavily from its concept during development. While the current implementation is somewhat underwhelming, having NPCs die simply because you're struggling with the game would have maybe gone too far. The game is hard as is, so punishing players even more for learning would have rubbed salt in the wound.
@redfish337 Жыл бұрын
@@leithaziz2716 I'm glad it's not punishing. One of the things I really liked about Sekiro was when I found out I didn't have to worry about questlines. One of the things I don't like about DS games is how finnicky the quests are. This means two things for someone like me who likes to do basically everything. Either, follow some sort of missable guide, or do extreme and boring backtracking/exploration for hours upon hours. And even then Dark Souls is pretty rough with those event flags. But I still think it could have been better. For one thing, I think "unseen aid" should be waaaay better. If it was a more developed mechanic it would make dragonrot matter a bit more. Eg, if it always worked, but it was a flat amount of protected exp and coin that got worse as dragonrot spread.

Yeaaaaaaaah boy!!! Bosses or mini bosses, keep on them. Dodge the unblockable. When scoping a new area look for sneaky ways around behind people (like that long lane in hirata estate, there's a side garden to the left of the lane) Salami tactic - stealthily take out men one by one. Terror tactic - run or jump in and kill a person in front of others then dissappear, waiting for them to stop looking. Chaos tactic - run in and kill them all (this rarely ends well until you get unbelievable at blocking)

I would advise against it since it is better to learn not to perform any directional inputs at all. If he tries doging forward it might backfire on him. Not pressing anything is a surefire way to perform mikiri. One certain optional boss beat it in me until I started doing subconsciously =)

It was really cool watching you study the first Ashina general at the start of the video. Well done on your hard-fought victories! Three tips: 1. Dragonrot won't kill NPCs, but it reduces Unseen Aid and prevents you from advancing their storylines - which includes at least one of the different endings, since it relies upon eavesdropping on certain NPCs that can catch Dragonrot. Pretty sure about the last point, anyway. 2. You can deflect ANYTHING - except for sweeps and grabs. Those have to be jumped over/dodged, respectively. If it isn't one of those, then you CAN deflect it. 3. Tying into number two, aggression is key, and since stamina isn't a thing, you don't have to worry about getting exhausted like you would in Dark Souls or Elden Ring. Good luck!

A hint about the resurrection and Dragonrot...if you resurrect when you have resurrection power (so when the game lets you resurrect during battle) you don't incur Dragonrot on others. The way Emma described it is that when you don't have that power you still resurrect (so when you respawn at the last statue) but it draws on something else. That's what causes Dragonrot. So if you want to prevent that then resurrect when you can and then run away and look for a way to get your resurrection power back or just leave, rest, and come back with it. In other words, dying "for real" is how you give Dragonrot to people.
