Don't forget that the origin of DC comic goes back 30-50 years longer than Marvel, so there's a lot more comic history to go through if you want to be a DC completionist. It could literally take a lifetime with all the new content plus the old.

Why does Paul like Birds of Prey? It was basically just the Harley Quinn Story Hour. Those characters are a) nothing like their source material b) flat and uncompelling. The cop character was the most likable one, which is not typically what you're going for in a superhero movie.

They all liked it. It’s a pretty ok movie but I agree with you, it underserved the other “Birds of Prey”

The reason (IMO) Marvel has better storylines and better received characters, is because Marvel's central cast of heroes are not gods. Ironman, Captain America, and Spiderman, get bruises. They ice knees. Same again for why Batman (and the Joker-verse) overtook Superman to dominate DC (which is another reason DC is so 'dark' - Batman sets DC's tone the way Ironman sets Marvel's). Fake upper lip on Superman or no, one thing's for certain - no matter how many punches it takes, it will never bleed.

The amount of times you guys say "I just don't get why they made this decision" is easily explainable .... Zack Snyder is a terrible film maker. He fundamentally doesn't understand the comic book medium or its characters. And he actively dislikes Superman.

If someone is completely insane and uses his craft as therapy, you cannot hire him to do what he does and then try to reel him in. You’re either in for the madness or not. They give Snyder these movies and when he creates a 5 hour Escher esque foolishness, people get upset. SMH

Agreed. WB kept course correcting with any bit of criticism and each correction made it worse. Instead of recognizing the mistake, they took it as a sign that they need to do it even more to fix it. Hire the people, let them work. Producers don't make the movies for a reason.

Re: Zack Snyder making long movies, just because the longer versions actually make sense, compared to the theatrical versions, it does not mean the movies are good. They're still pretty mediocre, the characters are inconsistent, and the performances are really spotty. His entire interpretation of the DC Universe is just...2-d and hollow.

There were massive mistakes in BvS but or th first to in 0 years of movies, someone got a Batman fight scene right! I love Nolan's movies but Bale punches like a irl. ZSJL was nearly perfect. The Flash dialogue was kinda corny, but the music throughout the movie was amazing. It was almost Star Wars good. Whoever had the bright idea to replace that with Danny Elfman out there been deaf.

Its unfortunate so many years of the 2010s was wasted. If WB got there shit together we could have had so many great films. All there film making decisions were reactionary. If superman returns doesn't have enough action then man of steel has too much. WB mismanagement is just plain sad. Almost as sad as the star wars sequel trilogy. Except there's no special cut of rise of Skywalker. Personally I think the DCEU could have succeeded if they didn't get so pretentious to try and re invent everything. Just do the characters how they were done in the DC animated universe with Bruce Tim. This would have been SUCCESSFUL. Then again I'm not a complete hater of snyders vision. I own all of Snyders DC films even Watchmen. 💀

David or whoever that is talking about his friend who has invented such a complex universe that it can't be contained in any form but his friend's imagination...that's pretentious nonsense. The Star Wars "expanded universe" was dozens of books and comics that explored an entire cosmos. The Star Trek mythos has tons of in-depth lore and several of its own languages. The Wheel of Time series is like 12 or more books that take place over HUNDREDS of years of in-universe history. I need more evidence than "he can only tell 10% of it at a party" to go along with the idea that it's not possible to capture in any medium besides "that guy's brain."

I don't understand why some people just hate these DC movies. I grew up loving both Marvel and DC and I'm in my 60s and seen them all. The Wedon version of JL was disappointing but somewhat enjoyable. The Snyder cut was great. You guys have absolutely no idea what your talking about.
