Our children will never speak a lost language and culture. Some threads carry on but it’s not the same and the grief remains. It’s also about the sharing of the holy land itself towards Christians and Muslims, as both religions considered Jerusalem as the holy land. This blessed man is already no more. His message of peace and unity was too powerful - not what the world governments want. His "change" was more than just his looks... The "new" matisyahu would never condone the actions of the IDF or the "country or state of Israel". Like he says in this very song- his milk and honey is not the land or the country but the dwelling of his majesty which is in the temple i.e the body. He knew! And they took him out for it!

As much as I miss Matis's old band (especially Aaron Dugan), his current band is pretty awesome, especially Stu Brooks on bass - when I saw him last year, it made me decide to go out and get a bass and learn to play, which I've since done.
