MATLAB Session -- Secant Method

This video implements the secant method in MATLAB. The example finds a root of the sin() function in the proximity of 4, which of course turns out to be 3.1415.

How would you display each of your iterations? Like if I wanted to see in a table what the first iteration value was and then the second and so forth? Kind of like looking at the convergence through a table.

The first thing I do is create a rough plot. From there, you can get a rough idea about the position of the roots and types of algorithms you will find to identify the roots. is it okay to write f1=sin(x1) and f2=sin(x2) instead of defining a seperate function func?

The code will work, but what if you were asked to then perform the secant method on a different function? With your approach you would have to search your code carefully for every instance where sin() is called and change it to the new function. If you follow my advice, you will only ever have to change one line of code at the front. Things will be much easier for you!
