Thank u sir, had a university class yesterday and hand to remind to myself what was the "logic" in this connections.

Thank you Prof. for the clear well explained topic. What if I want to to compare between different responses on the same plot by giving different values for c . Can I do that in Simulink ? how please !

Duplicate the system and send both outputs to the same scope. If you are using an older version of simulink you will need to use a multiplexer block [Mux] to merge the two output signals.

Thank you sir. And can I define it 2-dof system?

Yes, you can.

I have a question, what if same system , but we have to simulate with a step input? Is it still right to use a derivative block if we use a step input? Since the derivative of numerical constant value is 0. How would that work or how can I model with step input? Any help is widely appreciated.
@jasonbledsoe91962 жыл бұрын
I just recreated this and used a step-input and it seemed to work fine and the model didn't fail. Just check your parameters and use reasonable numbers.

The derivative of a step input is an impulse. The derivative block in Simulink outputs an impulse with an amplitude that depends on the time step used in the model solver. The math holds well.

The derivative of a step it is called delta function, or inpulse. IT works

What about when there will two mass.... Means two equations then how we deal it....?
@zmasoud2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you will have two equations of motion. See my "Matlab Simulink model of a Drum-Mass system" video.

Thanks for the explanation! Why is there no m*(d2y/dx2) in the equation, where m is the mass of the spring and the shock absorber?
@gordonmax7119 ай бұрын
Refer to second order differential equation.
