@@Banditmanuk My optimistic hope is being able to do some drag racing in October. My left arm and hand are pretty useless right now. I'll do 5 weeks doing home exercises then move on to professional rehab. I had a week tour with my nephews and Mr. Bill planned in mid September but I won't make that. The crash could have worse as the bike flipped a couple times and landed right beside me. Again I appreciate your concern .

I (Richard) would probably have ridden through as I have in the past. Carol, being the sensible one, thought it wasn't worth the risk. It was also the shortest way to Matlock and we were hungry 😋 It's a beautiful spot there.

The Versys 1000 was a great bike. I was going to keep it to tour on and keep the MT10 for fun shorter runs. I just found myself always picking up the Yamaha keys so in the end I sold it. Thanks again for watching Gregor

Fish and chips looked nice although tasted better when they were a fiver. Our group went on coach trip ( yes I know) but we went for fish and chips there and they were £30 for 2 large portions that were not that large. worst part was £2.80 for can of tango apple. Salad bar in Matlock, that did make me smile.

Great to see the Lc out again and YES it is worth it! I do miss the long summer evenings (dark here at 7.30 in summer) proper fish n chips and beautiful British roads, good miss by carol, made me jump as well! I can’t ride at dawn and dusk due to Kangaroos, (had a couple of close ones lately, someone was airlifted to hospital recently) so my riding hours are 9 am till 4 pm sadly

Glad you agree, the LC is definitely worth keeping. It brings back great memories from the 80s when I had the original. Dark here now by 8.30 pm and rapidly drawing in. Some years when the weather has been better, we've still been riding in fading light by 10.30pm. Honestly I don't blame you for not riding at dusk with Kangaroos, bit like hitting a deer here, which does occasionally still happen. Appreciate you watching from the other side of the globe. Cheers

My wheelies are a bit rubbish. The MT10 loves to do them, but these days, it's just not worth putting anything like that on KZbin. It's classed as reckless by the police and no doubt someone would report your video. At nearly 60 I'm past that sort of thing 😆. Thanks for watching

We were surprised by how busy a Thursday evening was in Matlock. Fish & chips were really good 👍 Carol assures me the duck was actually a pheasant. She made eye contact with it as it climbed out the hedge and decided to take off in front of her. Near miss! You get top marks for making it right to the end of the vid. Kostas is nice. It's outside there that always attracts the first bikes. We used to get an early breakfast there. So nice to ride in the Peaks before the hoards get out (or indeed late evening after they've gone home)

Well that was a lovely evening ride out, thanks for sharing it with us including a look at the biker fuel on offer 😂 I don't blame you for not tackling that ford, even Road 6's would loose grip on slime 😱 You almost had pheasant for Sunday dinner there, though I don't think Carol would have enjoyed the head to head collision 🤕 I'm hoping for a swift recovery for Jerry and thankful that he wasn't going much faster. I had Edna giggling and singing from the pillion of the Thunderbird on our last outing, I think she really enjoys that bike 😀👍

@@Banditmanuk It's a pity my 360 kept cutting out, I think the SD card needs formatting as it's only the one card which does it. Edna extolled the virtues of the bike during one of the cut off periods. Also possibly the sharpest hairpin in the UK missed capturing, so I guess we'll have to do it again. Yes Jerry was brave indeed, I don't think I'd have had another attempt untill the reason behind that wobble was fixed. Any other time he'd have had multiple runs to get the bike set up spot on.

I'm afraid I used to wheelie a lot on my old LC, it just wanted to be in one wheel, hingest guv! 😂 I saw someone wheelie an RT once so thought I'd game a go with mine. Nearly trashed it so that's the end of my wheelie days. Bloody expensive for fish and chips these days isn't it, no matter where you get it. Nice video again , stay safe.

I had a 250LC at 17. We all thought we could wheelie with them. I watched a mate pitch his clean over on the outfield roads at Donington Park! You could stand them on their nose as well, something not possible with modern ABS Yep, it's expensive. Let's not factor in the 100 mile around trip costs for two bikes! Good to hear from you. Hi Richard and Carol I was there 3 weeks ago with my son that good value for money if you can est a larger fish and chips go to my cousins Charlie’s the Green restaurant about one and quarter foot long the fish there to much you have to be well hungry to eat that. Very close call at the end 👍👍

There's always been an idiot element in Matlock Bath with either the too young and stupid trying to impress someone, mainly themselves, or the look at me show offs I'm sure you've seen too. Personally never felt the need to wheelie even when I was young and the first time I did pull one it was a surprise to me and my VT500e as I tried setting off on a steep bit! Carsington water is an unusual one as all it's water comes from the river by the big layby between Ambergate and Whatstandwell on the A6. Tunnels run from there all the way to the reservoir. It was good money making the stone for that as we were working from 7am to 10pm at the quarry. Pity the first one collapsed which always made me wary of buying a house in Ashbourne when they went ahead and made another one! Ride happy and safe both of you.

Lucky bird😂 you can not beat summer night riding, it really is perfection. I was thinking those fish and chips were pricey but infact that's normal price now. Another thing with wheelies is annoying the locals. That can make things very difficult. Nice bike stop that👍🍻😎

I'm sure I've seen our friends Heath & Kim pay similar in the South West seaside spots. You kind of don't mind if it's nice, which it was. It's hard to believe it's taken us this long to get a proper evening ride in, such a rubbish summer. Yes, non riding locals must get fed up with the few idiots with open exhausts and stunt antics. We usually avoid Matlock and head to a quiet cafe, but late evening, the only places open are there.

@@Banditmanuk Worked weekends, and later Bank Holidays for 35 years, then managed about 8 years Mon-Fri 9-5 ...until some bright spark thought it was a good idea to start opening Saturdays...only doing 1in4 at the minute so can't complain in this day and age. Last time I went through Matlock Bath it was gridlocked with cars and bikes took ages to thread my way through even on the bike. Are they still charging for parking or did they drop that idea after all the petitions and stuff? Lovely part of the world on a quiet day in the week.
