Great video guys, i would probably have added another 2 inches to the rig and have strung out bulk starting 6 inches from the hook moving up, think that would help stabilize the paste more with the currents and wafting from the fish, currents , maybe try a different colour paste or paste made out of the micros.

Can't believe amount of movement in that paste. Maybe leave a tag end when you tie hook on and add a no9 stot to help stability of paste

wet the 2mm pellets.Makes them heavier They dont scatter as easy. Paste does need to be wetter. Makes it heavier. If Jamie is unhappy with paste falling of ,just add some wheat glutten when mixing it.

I know we have always used the largest sized hook rules allow for paste fishing but what I will be trying is using smaller hooks to enable the size of paste to be less simply because I want to see if it is better as unfortunately a lot of fish we catch these days do have the damage to their mouths seen here.

Fancy foul hooking fish in the mouth 😁. The main thing for me at the halfway stage is that fish with mashed up mouths isn't great for big baits. They've obviously got used to single small-ish baits, hence the one at a time feeding. They'll then ignore big baits like paste. I watched the Korda one earlier today, the fish were full-on eating four to eight 10mm and 12mm baits with ease...... And they had mouths which worked (extending and sucking). The fish in this Matrix one don't. Also, micros, how and when you feed them, whatever venue, is massive. We have seen this in many underwater vids.

Brilliant watch. Everyone does it slightly differently but when Callum showed the groundbaits I thought the first thing he was going to do was riddle them. I think an ultra fine groundbait makes a better heavier paste.

Jamie when I set the float I always run the shot down to the hook knot and space it out 1 inch apart i fish over depth 3inch then I put a BB shot 2 inch away from the hook so that the bias on the shot turns the hook over when taken when the fish sucks in the bait and blows it out because of the line it can feel the hook is down automatic because of the BB shot and the fish hooks it's self I find it a very good method you still use the float But more often than not the fish is already hooked size

You could do 3 or 4 videos on this. With different feed baits (hemp) . Wetter paste to see if it doesnt float around, bigger bits ,as those used seem small to me. Love the video. But as say ,take to different levels

Have you tried scalded 2mm micros leave over night,in a sealed tubthen roll into a paste it stays on the hook longer and I find a more positive bite.

I’ve never tried paste, but it looks like a very hit and miss method - with lots of rebating being required. I can see why it is regularly shown as a margin method! In this video, simply fishing 6mm hard/expander would have surely been the best change to make?!

Brilliant video chaps just a shame about the venue. I only live a couple of miles away and fished it loads before it was handed over to the specimen men who have totally ruined it in my opinion. Most of the fish are missing parts of their mouths due to being hauled in on heavy tackle which is such a shame as it was once a prolific place.

Even watching the underwater videos , how on earth are you supposed to understand if when on the bank fishing is your bait not working correctly, and watching the video why not try hooking micros on the hook ? But it shows how finicky and even the most experienced of anglers who are thinking that the bait it is in the same place , it moves without any indication and yes there is a lot of skill involved, but this just shows that even the best , do not understand or know which bait is c without looking at the underwater fishing

Hook lengths too heavy .18 is great even for lumps Bait needs to be made from a finer bait what you’re using is far too granular / coarse If your not getting bites use a smaller piece of past Float is too big go much smaller lighter even with 6ft depth Try using more g:bait/ paste as free offerings Vary your paste ie sloppy to dry big or smaller Vary the shape of your bait instead of a ball try a pyramid this stop it rolling around so much it may lay over when Wafted over this will drop your float down 1/2 inch so allow with the amount of showing float a bit longer I’m in awe with both your prowess but you don’t look happy to be using paste Another idea is to band a pellet and wrap paste round it Finally your using far too much shot Good luck

See i love paste fishing. I feel the paste floating around is coz it's not wet enough! My bits of paste i fishing, wouldn't even fit in those pots. Also I fish with hemp as feed, ad I've felt from when I first started fishing paste, micros are to light,6mms are to big. Where hemp is heavy.

Never seen paste fishing done so wrongly compare to what id say , needs to be much stiffer paste it shouldnt pull out the hook like that😂 i use the old school halibut trout pellets , hot kettle of water and add 2 table spoons of sugar and its the best paste , this is more like slop with a hook in, i use paste on a waggler and im able to cast it out
