How do start the circle directly in the center, ie matrix I use the F4 button??
@CADJewellerySkills2 жыл бұрын
When a command asks for a point at the centre, you can type in 0,0 (or even just 0) and press . It's one keypress more, but the same effect.

Im very new to this and i want to start learning , which is the prefer software to learn on ? Matrix? Rhino? Other?
@CADJewellerySkills7 жыл бұрын
There are many softwares you can learn on. Generally, though, I like to recommend people choose software based on the kind of work they ultimately want to do. That's why I wrote and maintain this FAQ page comparing the various types of CAD software. So basically matrix is an 8k program of shortcuts
@CADJewellerySkills2 жыл бұрын
That's a bit reductio ad absurdum, isn't it? Matrix (and its successor MatrixGold) have added so much additional functionality onto the software as to completely change the workflow. It is possible to do many things the software can do in Rhino in a much slower process, but not all of them. There is no substitute for Gem Springs or carat weight measurements, for example.

@@CADJewellerySkills While I agree to a point, while I was on my 30 day trial period (asked for a refund) I found myself going back to using old fashioned rhino commands for most of my work. For gems there are other tools like Grasshopper gold or a few other paid plug ins. For metal weigh, well my casting company sends me that info once I upload the STL file. While I would admit that Matrix looks good, it is very expensive, on top of that , they want you to pay to learn how to use it properly. I don't agree with the sales tactics at Gemvision. 2shapes is coming along nicely now too considering they are the old Rhino Gold team...

@@ians9390 All fair points. MatrixGold's price is definitely an issue. As for training, this is why I deliver classes in MatrixGold, Rhino, etc. Contact me through my blog and we can talk shop more if you like: www.cadjewelleryskills.com
