As a long time fan, I love Matt's voice, always will. Been listening to him for years. But some of these tracks are so over-produced that I can hardly tell it's him singing. I miss the deep, soulful ballads and the jazz and rock songs he does so well. There are some beautiful songs here, but some just sound like a lot of other pop songs. Sorry to be negative, but it's my honest reaction.

"Time to be alive" starts as an acoustic, and it's this contrast to the dance-y ending that makes it absolutely awesome for me. Took me actually until I looped the song on its own to recognize this. With "High as the night" and "Don't be so shy" I have the feeling that the effect they put on the vocals are to highlight the mood of literally diving off the edge. I'm catching myself way too often that it's specifically those tracks that I return to in my current playlist. For the main reason that they _are_ so different. They're intriguing. And I don't like to listen to today's pop music _at all_ bc most of the time these effects are being used to cover for real shoddy vocals of awful singers. But with Matt the producers actually had an on-point voice track to work with. That seems to make all the difference.

Hi Julia, It's been a while! Thanks for your thoughts. Some of Matt's music is the best I've ever heard, and I'm a long time performer (small time) and singer. I love his voice so much, that I felt it was lost in all the production. But maybe I need to give it more time, and more listens, especially the ones you mentioned. Thanks again!

I had this feeling if he came out under a label we're going to miss out on a lot of what he use to do A fan was upset that she has to pay for v.i.ps now His whole style has been changed to suit the masses In his interviews now the answers to our burning questions are T.B.C I'm starting to hate those initials The album is amazing I've actually learn't to follow the lyrics there is a review with My Fizzy Pop that breaks down every song on the album which gives it a different perspective on this album

Who puts thoughts like that in your head? One _always_ had to pay extra for VIP. Furthermore there hasn't even _been_ a VIP event since he signed with Sony. So how can you say that something changed? Having a pic and a chat with Matt at a stage door or anywhere around the venue always was left to chance, wasn't included in the ticket price, and never was a given at any point. That he still did it _even_ when he _also_ had actual VIP tickets on offer says a lot. Plus, Matt's answer to anything _always_ had been "soon" or any kind of variation thereof. In case you haven't noticed, it had become quite a good-natured running joke among fans a very long time ago.

Maybe it was her first time to a concert but she was very put out about it... Yes I do recall the "soon" buzz now it's become T.B.C There has been changes made defo in his style of music but I'm not going to begrudge him breaking out to the masses it's what we've always wanted for him to show case that Beautiful Voice
