I would encourage anyone coming to this video without prior knowledge of Matt (just searching for Buckley covers) to check out his own music (try 'Resolution', 'Breathe', 'Lighthome', and 'Brother'). Considering that this was an impromptu cover at the request of a fan, it's pretty awesome. But his own material displays his talent better and this dude is one of the best musicians going at the moment (and generally a good human being). Jeff would've been a fan I'm sure.

It's almost painful to read some of these comments. Yes, Jeff Buckley was a legend however Matt Corby is his own different musician. All these comments bashing him and making mockery of this soul fledge performance all seem to be forgetting the whole point of music. Stop comparing musicians and tearing them down for missing the hurdles set that would only hurt them anyways. This is music. A man with a guitar singing his heart out at a fans request, whether or not he is as good is irrelevant close your eyes and feel his emotion and stop trying so hard to all sound impressive by cockily tearing him down. Just sad to see.

I love his voice, but as I've always said, if you want to cover a Jeff Buckley song you have to do your research. Study the song inside out and find the real emotion behind it and try to relate to that and put that in the song. I think that's what made him such a great musician, his expression and emotions. Its just the most important thing needed for this cover. But to be honest Lover You Should Have Come Over, Mojo Pin and Grace are the only songs I feel covers will never ever live up to. Usually in covers I would focus on the vocal and how its portrayed, but with Jeff? All I can focus on is the emotion and expression. Amazing.

I found that switch from G to Em was so much more strong in this cover and it’s probably my favourite part of the whole song.
