Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are ready to see "Oppenheimer" ignite the box office. The A-listers spoke with Access Hollywood recently about their anticipated new film and how impressed they were with not only director Christopher Nolan's vision but also star Cillian Murphy's performance as the title scientist behind the development of the atomic bomb. The co-stars also enjoyed working with each other again more than a decade after teaming up for 2011's "The Adjustment Bureau," in which they played love interests. Now, the pair are friends and neighbors and admitted to Access that they go on double dates "all the time" with their respective spouses! The stars also went on to share their positive first impressions of each other from their early time on "The Adjustment Bureau." "He was so nice to me, I auditioned for it," Emily recalled of Matt. "And I know he'd seen like four other chicks that day and he was so lovely and fun and we [improvised] a lot and it was really cool." Matt also remembers the experience fondly but added that Emily made it easy for him to decide on his leading lady.
"You just came in and slaughtered the audition. You did, you crushed," he said. "Oppenheimer" opens in theaters July 21.

The on-screen chemistry between these two is outright absurd in the Adjustment Bureau. I literally bought the DVD because of that chemistry. You can tell they just "flow" together so well. The Adjustment Bureau is ridiculously rewatchable. THAT'S how important chemistry between the leads really is when you're talking about box office success.

Their acting in AB is some of the best shared romantic chemistry I’ve ever seen in a movie. There was something genuinely exciting and dynamic about the way they played off each other as actors, what an under-seen movie!

i think this is due to emily blunt more so than matt damon or their chemistry. she has an extremely level of charisma and this ethereal quality about her. she did the same thing to me in wild target and it was with bill nighly who's character was gay.

Not too quick there, don't you remember the behind the scenes video that came out of Matt verbally abusing people working on his movie? And just today I saw a clip of Emily fat shaming a waitress she had on a visit to the Jonathan Ross show. I am so disappointed because I really liked her until that moment.

There’s more acting in their interviews together than the adjustment bureau. They have to be focused for the junket. They were allowed to just full on vibe in their movie together. They must have a great married couple friendship between the four people; creatively and as wonderful people.

She really is a tremendous talent, and very underrated cause she's not a big in-your-face personality, but watch a lot of her movies and you'll see she really has a deep intuitive side to her acting. The comments made in this video are truly jaw dropping. Blunt thinks that America built nuclear weapons to “save the world”. Damon thinks the Americans were worried the weapons would “fall into the wrong hands”. These two need a history lesson. The Americans are the only country to ever use nuclear weapons, and in so doing committed genocide by murdering over 500,000 innocent civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Their comments are disgusting.

The original _intent_ had been to "save the world", so to speak, not from the Japanese but from the Nazis, that did threaten the world with a nuclear development program of their own. (I'm not saying that would have been _right_ to nuke anyone: I'm saying that was the _motivation_ behind the project.) I wonder if the film will portray properly how The Manhattan Project was not just a US project but a British-American cooperation with many British scientists working under the motivation to save their homeland. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were horrendous, but you must not forget that the US and UK also conducted other bomb raids on civilian cities in Japan and Germany that were just as devastating, using _large_ numbers of conventional and incendiary bombs that killed hundreds of thousands and made hundreds of thousands of civilians homeless. If you can, watch "Grave of the Fireflies" - you will only stomach seeing it once. What prompted Japan's surrender in WWII was not just the two nukes, but also USSR's invasion from the north. Japan lost a lot of territory there very fast, and surrendering to the US was chosen as the lesser of two evils. With the "honour in death"-culture of the Japanese military, they didn't care about civilian deaths. The thought of Japan under communist control was seen as worse.
