@@jaymoar3561 doesn't matter. Toyota has known metallurgical problems with the Tacoma frames. The metal rusts from the inside out. I'm just giving you a hard time because you are broadcasting being a flamboyant Tacoma fanboi. I work with one guy who drives a 1984 Ford ranger and know plenty of people who drive 70s and 80s Ford, Chevy and Dodge pickups, in the rust belt. Any truck can be made to last mechanically, anywhere, if it's maintained properly but a Tacoma will undoubtedly be reframed by a dealership at some point because Toyota knows that they had an issue.

The term pickup truck originated when you could buy a small flatbed to put on the back of your Ford model T. You would order the it and collect or 'pick up' the kit from the train station. So it's a truck kit you pick up, as opposed to a truck that picks things up.

The first one I replaced at 100,000 and did the timing belt at the same time, and that is what I did at 200,000 and 300,000 as preventative maintenance. I could have gone longer but why risk it. I feel him. I make great money, but, still drive a 2004 suburban. If only GM didn't put fuel management systems on the newer models. All that does is cause oil leaks and give you the exact same MPG as the previous models. Basically they built them in a way that will require repair from their buddies at the dealership. I'm good, mine only has 225k miles on it, which is low for that model. When she turns over 500k I'm just going to dump 20k into it and fix it all the way up. That's still only a third of the cost of the cheapest version of the😢 newest model. All of the other modern trinkets can be added to the ol burban for a fraction of the cost.

If celebrities were regular people, can you imagine Matt Damon calling Christian Bale on a Sunday afternoon to help him transport a washer and dryer to his nephew for college because he just got a sweet deal on these new front loaders.

I have a 1997 Toyota T100, 2003 Sequoia, and a 2011 Tundra that I bought all of them new and they are still going for me and my family.. They are just super durable and reliable. I wish GM or Ford made cars as reliable. I would buy them.

Christian Bale is so down to earth. The first time I saw him in a movie, he was ten years old! That Toyota Tacoma will probably last another 20 years of reliance service……😊

Multiple mechanics have told me their families own only Toyotas and Hondas, because they will go longer than most other makes while needing nothing more than an oil change.

Good on him for asking why that's interesting. Rich people ruining the planet with their money has been normalised too much.

What many people don't understand is, wealthy folks often drive old/beater vehicles. Generally they're built well (old Toyotas, Volvos etc), but they're very often over a decade old. They're either too busy, or like many, they don't see (or need to use) their money to purchase status pieces. People know who they are without them.

The man drives a 2003 Tacoma because it’s a damn beautiful piece of modern machinery. It is a storied model, its design is a testament to the rugged practical necessities a man requires against the cruel and demanding challenges of an uncaring world. To understand this is to see!

I work with a guy who just paid 90k on a car. Big bastard Nissan pickup something or other. I told him that if i had 90k to drop on a car, I'd buy a really really nice car by my standards and put the other 85k in the bank.
