@@buck546: Haha, didn’t mean to upset your sentimentalities! Anyway, I agree about the gratuitous sex part - I’ve just finished watching a 29 episode modern cowboy series called ‘Yellowstone’ and it seems today’s cowboys do nothing but f*ck, eat, rodeo, and kill city slickers…and then hide their bodies!! I mean Matt Dillon, Roy Rogers, Palladin, the Lone Ranger, they certainly didn’t eat, rodeo or like girls - ewwww - (well, except for poor Roy who was married but didn’t really like his first wife much so he found a singing replacement) and when they shot up a bunch of bad guys they never had to clean up the bodies…they just left them to rot. Of course good guys seldom died (“Oh Roy, you’ve been shot!” “Don’t worry Dale, it’s just a flesh wound.”, lol). As a child I wondered about that. Which brings me to the ‘violence’ part without which there would be almost no movies coming out of the United States either then or now. It’s a movie staple and an American infatuation, the US being one of the most gun-violent places in the world. So really nothing has changed except that now cowboys and cowgirls are permitted to be attracted to women, men and each other, everyone still shoots each other, every scene and every spoken line is 100% predictable, and that’s why we like cowboy movies. “Audiences always like to be surprised by what they expect to happen”.

LOL This has happened to me more than once. Although I didn't have a miss kitty for backup. The cops showed up on a regular basis a few more times than once... Nowadays I just push them out the back door and try to persuade them to leave peacefully instead of being arrested in the drive way for all too see and hear at two am
