Matt Elliott is an English folk guitarist and singer from Bristol, England, who plays dark folk music. He also produced and recorded electronic music under the name The Third Eye Foundation. In 2003 he released his first album under his own name, The Mess We Made, which marked a stylistic shift from the Third Eye Foundation releases.
I used an excerpt of footage from Joris Ivens' short film Regen / Rain, (1929).
A day in the life of a rain-shower as a city symphony. Joris Ivens films Amsterdam and its changing appearance during a rain-shower. A very poetic film with changing moods, following the change from sunny Amsterdam streets to raindrops in the canals and the pouring rain on windows, umbrellas, trams and streets, until it clears up and the sun breaks through once again. Rain becomes a character, rather than a subject.

About 6 years ago, I drove back from a noise music concert with a girl knockout drunk in my backseat. I was kind of in love, well at least in lust, with the girl, but she didn't feel that way about me. It was after midnight and the rain was pouring. It was a long silent drive and all I had was this music playing on my cd player. Thanx Matt ever since college I've been alone and at times lonely, but your music always helped me, be it Third Eye Foundation or this.
