Five rules to break to be an authentic man: 1: Never get into a fight. (You need to defend your faith.) and men need to defend the dignity of women. 2: Never think about sex. (What is its purpose? The purpose of sex is to produce children; it was the first commandment God gave us.) 3: Play it safe. (Look unpopular and loony for God.) 4: Never give into peer pressure. (Surround yourself with good friends, who will help you become more holy.) 5: Never ask for directions. (Look to the church for direction. Confession is especially good.) What a great talk! When the talk came to the point where Matt was telling the men to ask a girl out, my heart was filled with this intense desire, understanding, and joy. It made me realize all of a sudden how much this truly is a TRUTH. Men are meant to initiate and women are meant to RECEIVE. The moment Matt called the guys to ask girls out I felt SUCH appreciation and love for him, and this inexplicable feeling of FULFILLMENT. Like for the first time in my life I encountered a true desire as a woman of Christ to be PURSUED! How powerful this is! Now, thanks to Matt, my strongest hope is that (I'm going on a retreat next week on Wednesday, please pray for me if you like) a speaker calls the men there to ask the girls out. This is such an intense desire of mine now so perhaps I need to pray over/about it. We'll see what God wants. What is for sure is that I feel extremely affirmed as a woman; again, for the first time I have experienced an incredible desire intended by God for a woman to experience, but due to original sin and our neutering culture it has become something foreign and even considered stereotypical. If you are a woman reading this I want you to pray to God to affirm your feminity. Take the risk. Ask him to reveal to you in fullness his plan, his plan of your role as a woman. Men, I want you to pray to God to affirm your masculinity, etc. Both, ask him to encounter you and refresh you in your masculinity/feminity. This is extremely important and immeasurably beautiful.
