I had the honor of playing all the drums on this record(Cosmic Liberty) and this is one of my favorite tunes off of that album. If you are into progressive odd timed dissonant then erratically not type of music that makes you feel like your on an acid trip than this album is for YOU! Check it out on spotify and bandcamp:)
My kit is a Maple Bubinga Hybrid custom Starclassic. Cordia is on the outside. That snare is a Highwood aluminum cast 14". Equilibrium china & hats of course as well as my signature fat stack.

Why do people even watch his reactions? He provides no valuable information concering the drummer, music or technique other than farting and saying meaningless stuff. I don't get it. There are people that actually teach you something in their reactions, not him though.

El Boyo Electronico we watch him because we want to see his reactions to our favorite drummers. Not everything needs to be educated based and lessons learned. This is seriously one of the most technically impressive drum covers I have ever seen. Matt is really pushing the limits of musicianship here. One of the hardest working drummers of all time as well as one of the most gifted and tasteful. I rate this drummer 9.99999999999999999/10. Better than most of the greats and he's still improving at a steady and impressive rate.

In my humble opinion the Cosmic Liberty album, specially the song "Cosmic Liberty" defines a new music genre: "Fractal Prog Rock". Is it possible that Matt could video record himself playing that song? I think that is one of the best, most complex, and almost impossible drum songs ever played, also my favorite from the album. It would be really awesome to watch Matt play it!

Doing the same. Been working on the first 2 minutes for a year. So difficult. I know I cannot do a full cover, so I will work on the parts that when I did dmt, changed a view of my world. Because it is what I know I can comprehend. Most of it, slips my grasp. But that is my impatience to read it. I have a lot going on in my life. So only parts of it I can learn right now.

I get what you mean but memorizing even complicated music is actually pretty easy (if you just get the music in the first place), since both muscle memory and "things leading to things"-memory, AND the actual musical memory all contribute to make you remember the music. It also gets worlds easier with practice. It's the playing itself that's super hard, and I've never seen anyone play like Matt, he has a unique style and technical prowess that 99,99 % of people couldn't even dream of. Obviously, Matt actually feels everything he plays - so it's probably not difficult for him to remember it either. But that being said, he is a super computer, and (has been) extremely diligent and methodical with practice. He's one of a kind and very very unique, a genious imo. I love Matt :D

@@nenissaK true but I’ve had a hard time memorising how the guitar solo in Jambi by TOOL goes (the drums to said solo). The rest of the song is far more complicated but the drums in the solo is just a 3:4 polyrhythm with the same few blemishes permutated every now and again which is incredibly hard to remember or listen out for (except from one or two bars). I think improvising is my best bet but memorising isnt always doable.
