I think these men were abused by their mothers as children and the abuse continues through adulthood. Yes, this is abuse and their sons are enablers. As children, people might night recognize this type of behavior as abuse. By the time they become adults it’s too late unfortunately. Especially if the person is a true people pleaser. Standing up to mom and dad is not so easy when you have been conditioned to tolerate overbearing parents for years. This doesn’t happen overnight. This is my theory. Are there any mental health professionals out there that agree with me ? If not, how does this occur? Because it’s very unnatural.
