This is awesome. Amazing what happens when you remove the host from an interview and just have two interviewee's interview each other and tell genuine stories. I really love this format.

Iliza needs to win an award for her excellent posture. Her spine was so straight and her shoulders were back. Matt is so good at switching between being dominant on stage and submissive to people he recognizes are older/wiser. He is terrible at drawing people though - he made Iliza look like an anonymous pancake. Thank god he's good at comedy and acting.

I always thought that comedic bits can't really be brain-stormed. Sitting with a note-pad, or in front of the computer with a word-processor, or in a session over a table at a meeting. It has to come naturally. It may be a slower process, sure.

Here, let me fix that for you: "Every few years there's a wannabe comic (like Dane Cook) who unscrupulously steals, appropriates, or recycles older comics' material for an unsuspecting younger audience on a new platform where they can get away with it because the older folks who could call them on aren't around to narc them out." 🤣🤣🤣
@MichaelWilhelm-bt5tp2 ай бұрын
I have a different take on what this writer has said I get what your point is but I'm not sure that's the correct take on on the total the total perspective and the total Aura of what was said between the two yes you're right about older people's some older people's material and that has said in the past that he's a Dane Cook fan it's one of his most favorite people that he's studying also some other contemporary comedians like the black guy and I can't remember his name off the top of my head I can see his face and I know what I'm just having a senior moment but anyways there's nothing wrong with current comedians current performers going old school to tap material that used to be extremely extremely popular and not well known because of the unavailability of mass media distribution and KZbin and videos and a lot of times performers existing or new on the scene performers went to older material and older clubs comedy clubs and stages in auditoriums where past singers past performers past anything to do with entertainment where they would go into Old clubs or into the older clubs or like for example a rat pack Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra Dean Martin and whoever the fourth person was that I'm forgetting people would go and study them and then make do spin-offs of their material with attribution to to who they who their influencers were and who their most informative and most impressive and most influential entertainers where that got them to where they are today and that has done that Matt has always been good on attribution and bringing things to light when asked about how did you get your start how did you get your material you know he said he's started in Columbus Ohio and he did comedy a comedy club of sorts I don't forget to exact name but I know exactly where he started and he has he's his Grandpa's Papa his papa he's given total attribution for all the credit goes to papa for allowing him to sneak into clubs at 15 and try to get on stage by working with the owners of the clubs etc etc so Matt is not shy about about giving the credit to all the people who went before him and were major influences on him I've seen multiple KZbin videos regarding this so he hasn't really stolen someone else's material and it's repeating in a different format than and that older there's not enough older people out there to call him out on it there's that's what I disagree with you about you don't have to call someone out on the use of material from way back Matt has not in this interview but mad has given complete attribution for his influencers the places he's been the clubs he's been the the friendships he's had with Dane Cook and other comedians the one-on-one discussions he said he's never never ever scared away from that but it doesn't come up every interview and it doesn't come up like the discussions back and forth between him and this violent young comedian today this lady he doesn't bring up every past detail he doesn't need to because there is enough already existing background material where maybe this first writer of the critique maybe that writer did not know that if that's the case I give the writer a pass for the comments but should the writer have known what I just said and should the writer have presented his review as if he never knew what he wrote then it and if he did know
@MichaelWilhelm-bt5tp2 ай бұрын
If the first writer did know that Matt did previously attribute his past influencers then he sort of misdirected his critique at the end to present a different view - - it has a different tone to it that I don't like but I do respect what the writer wrote and I do understand from where he is coming from.. I'll give him that I'll give him that for at least trying to stir a discussion which his comments did flow!
@MichaelWilhelm-bt5tp2 ай бұрын
In my comments above toward the end I use the word I did use the word Violet Violet not violent but violent the word violence in quotes came into a print when I use the microphone to initially put all my comments out there so the audio translator took the word Violet and made it violent so I just want to get that out there so that readers don't come hard on me about that there's some other things like that prior to that specific mentioned in the text there's some other minor things that audio recorder didn't translate quite correctly into type but I'm not going to go through each and every one of those too pick out every particular instance where that did occur all in all I like what did make it to print I did have a chance to edit one final paragraph block by adding on additional comments and I don't know if it was the same review or one that just was written prior to what I'm saying now but anyways you I think you all get the idea of what I'm trying to say thanks a lot for allowing me to elaborate and explain
