What a great interview! People have to understand that comedy is 1) an amazing way to cope with hard moments in life. 2) it's a way to criticise the things that are wrong in the world. 3) it's supposed to unite people from different backgrounds through the little things that we all have in common as humans. 4) it's not malicious, it's matter of fact. 5) it's freedom. This guy is precious because he's great at doing all of the above with his heart in the right place. And believe me, as a person with disabilities, I wish every person were like Matt when I'm going through harder times! I am stupidly foolish when I have to deal with hardship and lots of people look at me in a judgemental way... Hey! I mourned for the life I lost, I've been through hell and now I accept my new life, I know how to handle it, it's my normality! I think laughing is key to framing the mind’s resiliency to feelings and focus mind to think more clearly to remain level! It is under appreciated and not understood! We need to strengthen our minds to be critical self thinkers to overcome and build up the mind so it isn’t susceptible to victimhood! Victimhood breads weakness, weak thoughts and thought processes and conclusions and policy! I always laugh at myself with whomever it is in the moment who cracks a joke at me! Always! And then I am never offended and we laugh and joke together!!! We need to stop talking about and seeing color and start talking about us as HUMANS and U.S. citizens! God bless the good!

Matt creates a dialogue through laughter instead of hatred or fear. As a proud member of the Silver Squad, I appreciate how he treats the Nanas with both respect and hilarious flirtation.

Matt says the same as me. Humour is subjective. 😊 everyone likes different things doesnt deduct any of the value of it just means its not your thang. I love a lot of different comedians. From matt rife to trevor noah, drew lynch, kevin hart, jo koy, so many and they all make me laugh... wisdom and humour is always a good combo 😊

The role of the American style comedian is to bring forth our hidden taboos, our fears, to bring them to the surface for us to find the lighter side its relief, our laughter. We should have no dark sides we keep hidden. The humor reminds us that we are all the same

How does this channel not have over a million subs??? These are some of the best interviews on the internet
@mikeruusan4 ай бұрын
because this channel is not for quick consumption and entertainment. I bet Jon Youshaei's 492k subscribers have more engagement % and retention than most channels with million subs.

I’m recovering from a near fatal massive stroke and I’m temporarily handicapped and once in a while I may require a wheelchair. I would absolutely love to see Matt Rife live and in person and be roasted! I’m working on some big things! I absolutely love and appreciate the dark humor! Especially now more than ever after discovering Matt Rife.

I am 19 years old and I have a panic and eating disorder. The fact that he is trying to make people laugh over it is so sweet. I wish I could laugh about my anxiety. I hope I can eventually. Right now it’s overpowering my life and the stuff I do. It’s really hard for sure! When I see Matt Rife’s videos and his Netflix specials. They make me happy and make me forget about my issues. I hope to see him at one of his shows. If I can’t afford it then I’ll just keep trying my best to work hard and get the money to go see him. He’s definitely someone I look up to. Knowing he has anxiety and depression as well has really got me to love him even more!!

I remember going to see George Carlin live at the Maryland Theatre. I literally lived just down the block and I've always loved his material. But I was turned off from it because we paid (back then) like $60 for each ticket. That was a huge part of my living budget to treat myself to a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So I expected he'd want to do some new stuff, but pepper in the classics that made him a household name. But he decided to do a "testing the waters" session and do nothing but political jokes that weren't funny. The highlight of the show was the guy that came on before him. I get that comedians like to test material. It's how they grow. But fans also like to re-experience the classics as well. We're only human, just as you are up on that stage. Thanks for this interview, Matt and thanks Jon for hosting it!

Matt you may never see this, but I was just having this conversation with my mom about being able to just actually talk to people, celebrities or just someone who has a following and a platform. You seem like an amazing, genuine, great guy and I want to see your special so badly. I had tickets for a show for this year in June and that show was canceled. I was going to be taking my best friend Heather for her birthday. Anyways what I'm getting it is I hope I get the chance to not only see your show but also just get to talk with you would be incredible. I know it's been a long journey and you have put a ton of time into everything you have done, and I want you to know we see you. You are doing awesome! Keep it up and never quit being you :) I'm Jackie by the way
