I think it would be super cool to add villains or at least templates to make "lesser legendary monsters", how to take any monster in the book and take them from creature to minion to villain to legendary monster. What are the simple design steps that DM readers can take to expand the book into even further and more personal creative experiences for their friends

Somebody asked about how to find the fantasy of giants. Matt hit it on the head with "They're Big." To me, this meant AoE's all over. A huge guy wielding a big weapon, should never be only hitting one guy. Whenever a giant attacks, it should be a problem for the whole party, or at least everyone nearby. I resolved this with them having single target aoe's, so attacks target one person, but trigger saves to things in between, and/or in radius. Swords are lines, or squares. All giants can stomp. Also any hit from a giant can send medium creatures flying.

I was so happy to hear you praise the 4e Dungeon Delve! I just recently used the Gith Fortress dungeon (chapter 12 or 13?) as the base for an enemy company of hell knights (not unlike an antagonist version of The Chain). Each of the three rooms was interspersed with a few rounds of warfare combat happening outside while the PCs fought their way through to wipe out the officers. The Illrigger NPC was perfect for the Commander.

@@HuseyinCinar I caught a couple. yume no tsuzuki and Magic Ways But there are Japanese City Pop (and Future Funk Remixes) of this kind of music in KZbin Radio Stations (think a stream that's always running music) and Playlists. In high school I went through a big future funk phase. That was great because I also started watch Matt back then. Best of luck finding more music tracks.

I think it might be a good idea to release independent classes as PDFs like you did with the illrigger and then collect them down the line in a complete physical book, maybe with some additional written content for value (like additional info on the fantasy of the class to inspire people).

The Elric fix ups that Matt shows off were reprinted in two collected volumes by White Wolf Publishing in the nineties (along with all of the Eternal Champion sequences). Sometime after those volumes was when it reverted to being collections of short stories.

To be clear, Elric himself got two volumes (Elric the Stealer of Souls and Elric Song of the Black Sword). Corum and Hawkmoon got two each as well, Erekose (typing diacriticals on a phone is too hard) one. There were, iirc, 13 or 14 all together.

The chances of Matt running rifts are extremely low imo, just because that game is an overly designed, complicated, extremely obtuse game that I don’t think he would enjoy running. It would be awesome to see him run some earlier editions tho! Or get Jim on the channel for that or smth

@@BSpeakman80 oh the world is absolutely fantastic! A friend of mine was going to run a game of rifts for us because we love the world so much, but he couldn’t wrap his head around the actual crunch of the game. He’s currently working on adapting rifts to a different system :)

Always enjoy a livestream! Great to have on the side whilst working. Had to comment at this though regarding the dead levels talk, Fighters don't really have dead levels. Martials in generally don't really have many if any dead levels, if anything that's a problem with casters where you are reliant on spells to fill in the gaps. Just take a look at the class tables, the only classes with ---- as an entry are classes with built in spellcasting.

I don't personaly get the idea of ''my fantasy'' as a player. As a GM - yes, I must love what i'm mastering, but as a player a can have fun in any setting, system of table. I don't like Pathfinder 2.0 but have a great playing a fun character that makes the unpopular desicions. I don't like cosmo-adventures but have great time as a candroid-pilot that shoots with eyes closed and have a REALLY strange sence of humon (partly coz he's learing what humor is). Not fun on zombie-apocalypse but had a great time eaten my zombies in savage worlds in first hour of 1st game. It's fun of you want it to be fun and make at least some effort. Btw (for me) the key to a great adventure always was creating an interesting concept of characred and with new strange idead explore new parts of PC's nature.

I'm putting this here for people like me who saw this comment and tried to track down exactly what he said in the twitch stream. Apparently a bunch of players didn't like streaming the games for various reasons, so the plan is to do campaign diaries with short clips from the game instead of getting to see the whole game, that way people will still get the story, but the players wont feel uncomfortable. It really makes me sad because I discovered Matt just before episode one, and I've been eagerly waiting for the chain to come back since the beginning of covid. I don't blame them for doing what they're doing, but personally I loved watching the show the way it was and I can't say I'm interested in the new format. Major disappointment, but if that's how they feel then it really was the right decision to make. Edit: It looks like they might be doing a new series on twitch called "The Lost Caravan" though. Pretty happy about that.
