What a lovely man, I'm just glad he survived sepsis, it is lethal. I've nearly died 3 times due to sepsis because of my feeding line. I can't have a feeding line anymore. So please if you ever get an infection you must get it treated please. But this gentleman he is amazing.

Thank you for telling your Sepsis Survivor story, Matt. Your sincere, encouraging words of wisdom are inspirational. The road to sepsis recovery can be incredibly frustrating & burdensome. It's also lonely. Family, friends and even physicians don't or can't understand the devastating impact of Sepsis... or understand & don't want to acknowledge its challenges.

Had it 5 times since 2003, it made a happy meal out of my left leg 2001, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2020. First time hurts the worst! As for the shock that really really sucked. I had no skin breaks or sores. Sepsis is a death sentence without IV antibiotics.

Matt, you’re so inspiring. Also a sepsis survivor, in 2019. My infection caused severe anemia (my body literally stopped making blood for awhile), but with blood transfusions it kicked back in gear. And infection had invaded inside my heart & damaged mitral valve. Doctors did open heart surgery to remove infection & repair valve. Thankful to God, doctors & numerous IV antibiotics. Between hospitals & in-facility rehabilitation, then home rehab with family. It was 4 months… then 18 months of 3x week rehabilitation for strength & breathing. I still am not 100% & some memory & brain fog. BUT… I am a Survivor! And making others aware of sepsis is a priority for me. ♥️🥰 thank you for sharing your story. Be blessed. ~ sherree’~

Hello Matt. I had septicemia and felt like I was dying. I had a 108 degree body temperature, was delirious and confused and had a very high heart rate and blood pressure which could have given me a stroke. My husband came in and told me that my body was posturing like with brain damage. God turned everything around really fast. My nurse in the ICU told me that I am a walking miracle.

It took me over 1 1/2 yrs to find out what I almost died from - Severe Septic Shock - 4 days after arthroscopic L shoulder surgery, July 16, 17, 2017. I am grateful it wasn’t my time to go. I was lucky. Blessed. I don’t remember any of it, or the month before & after & more… directions ? Always lost now days, never lost (directions wise) before 5 yrs later, I still struggle with cognitive issues.
