Good interview. Matt is a national treasure.

I think that's a bit much. But he's a very good writer. He keeps his morality as a social critic simple and relatable, as it should be. And he wouldn't bend, which is admirable, even though he's quite candid about how much he enjoyed his cushy existence at Rolling Stone pre-Donald, and liberalism's precipitous descent into madness.

Mr Milquetoast goes to Washington for fake media. Matt will NEVER burn his bridges to unbearably unwarranted illegitimate power. He's enthralled then disappointed the audience like the rest but only more unforgivably. He knew better. He's still not honest nor credible. Or so US media experts and officials day

Matt always delivers, doesn't he? One of the few journalists worthy of the name. (with Molly Hemingway, Glenn Greenwald, Emily Jashinsky, Chris Bedford, 2022 Aaron Mate) One of most deeply satisfying videos on KZbin is the Munk debate that "the media cannot be trusted" in which Matt & Douglas Murray team up on the affirmative side and clean the clocks of smarmy Malcolm Gladwell and a member of the NY Times Which Used to be a Newspaper. Very fun interview -- and Matt delivered the reminder that news was properly a loss center. I had forgotten that.

Great conversation truly. Matt is 1 of about 3 real journalists I take a lot of stock in what they have to say and btw only a little over 2k subscribers?...I just so happened to see that and was Shocked. I expected to see at least 300k. Every channel I've expected a much more massive subscriber count always go on to get that number. Last one was 2lazy2try. He had like 600 subscribers and I told him you'll be big and he is now so your on your way.

Matt's thorough, evidence-based investigative exuberance makes me wistfully pine for an alternative timeline in which he has a very slutty, exact duplicant, and gay twin brother, whom I would have the pleasure to converse into the wee minutes of the evening with over an obnoxious number of hours. [It would not be completely unfair to assume that I am currently single.] (Mad props to Matt's professional ethos, counter-reflexive rejection of immediate blah blah blah hegemonic discursive partyline regurgitation, thoughtful diligence, and principled, evidence-based, praxis. Basically, any--always lovefest--interview between him and Chris Hedges inflames all of my primitive jealousies..Gen-Xly from the traditional "left", very deeply appreciated! For stalwartly putting up with delusional, cynically motivated, fabulatively manufactured nonsense, and nauseatingly orchestrated crap, TYVM, Matt!)

Why this guy never reported on the 2016 Democratic Primary, I will never understand. That was an important key milestone, and turning point, of the demise of the Democratic Party. Unreal, absolutely unreal that he chose not to report on this.

Interesting. I wonder why...

@@excellentcomment I think I read that his rational was that he didn't want to dig up something that was further in the past than other things he was looking in to at the time. Unfortunately he underestimates how much of an underreported turning point that moment was in what was the Democratic party.

Have you checked out his book Insane Clown President? Collection of his reporting from the primaries and presidential election for the 2016 election - vast majority is focused on the Republican primary and then the presidential campaign, but from memory (it’s admittedly been a while) there’s a decent amount in there about what went on in the Democratic primary. I thought it was an extraordinary book.
@doveshouse
@doveshouse 5 күн бұрын
@@1wbeast wouldn't it though have been phenomenal if he reviled just how much suppression there was regarding the atrocity of the 2016 Dem primary. I would imagine during that time the amount of suppressed tweets represented about 50% of the grand total of all tweets on any and every topic.

Good reportage avoids personal/institutional prejudice and characterizes accurately. A good way to approach this is to say something positive about the negative and negative about the positive. For instance, "Trump's greatest virtue is his authenticity, but essentially he's an aspiring dictator ..."

How so ? Elon musks antics and positions on any particular thing aside the twitter behind the scenes stuff was absolutely news worthy and of interest to the public. If you were a reporter you would have jumped at the opportunity as well if it fell into your lap.
