Haha I actually have a similar story. There was an old lady crossing the runway at the airport. What she didn't see was a huge 747 coming in for a landing. I knew I had to do something, so I tried whistling. Unfortunately I don't know how to whistle, so the old lady basically just exploded against the wheels of the airplane. Probably died instantly. I probably should have yelled something instead of trying to whistle, but oh well. Shit happens.

my brother learned how to whistle like this because my dad taught us but he was able to figure it out quicker. But it saved us many a time. We used to ride bikes around town and dogs would chase and attack us. He used to scare the shit out of those dogs with the loud whistle. They will stop dead in their tracks when its loud enough.

I've been on God's green earth for 74 years now. I've wasted countless hours if not days attempting to produce high pitched noises by forcing air flow across my tongue and through my teeth & lips. Thoughts of not being able to whistle without fingers have haunted my dreams and plagued my entire life. I've lost my job of 40 years by hiding in the maintenance closet throughout the workday trying to whistle. My children's hearts are filled with malice and hurt from the years of neglect I've shown trying to obtain the skill of whistling without my fingers. My wife of 48 years has left me and taken the house with her complaining that my pursuit of whistling without fingers has caused her nothing but stress from feelings of being unloved and unwanted. Just last month, I wrecked my car, my only possession, on highway 45 while trying to achieve my dreams. I've taken shelter behind a small shopping mall and have fashioned a lean-to against a wall to protect my few belongings from the elements. Most nights are sleepless from the cold, the howling of the coyotes, or dwelling on the realization that my life has descended into a hellish, whistle-less nightmare. I often fantasize about ending it all to escape this hellscape. So here I sit inside a McDonald's with my free cup of water and my 0.99 cent hamburger just to have access to the free wi-fi that is offered. I stumbled upon your videos as a broken incapable of whistling without my fingers. And here you are before me, a Germanic, whistling angel bestowing a lifetime of sacred knowledge unto me. You are rest to the weary, relief to the broken, and food to the hungry. This tutorial has subsequently had me removed from the aforementioned McDonalds for disturbing the customers from my extraneously loud whistling capabilities. YOU HEAR THAT MARGARET YOU STUPID BITCH!? I CAN WHISTLE WITHOUT MY FINGERS! But Margaret, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry….please come back. Tell the kids I love them.
@matt60144 жыл бұрын
I don't know what to say. I've gone 3 decades on this earth feeling directionless, void of meaning and insignificant. I tried embracing the ethos of the free-spirited by convincing myself I'm just going wherever the wind takes me. Yet, I found myself with a soul chapped from the whirl and a mind gone cold from the dark. I began whistling to keep the voices entertained while I worked my hands to the bone to support the habits which kept my monsters caged. Whistling instead of talking to myself enabled me to function in society. I dont know why the good Lord blessed me with this ability, but it definitely has allowed me to be high functioning; for someone with my "disorder". However, i was still without real meaning. It is your comment, kind sir, that has awoken my spirit to my life's true calling. I now know what I need to do. I will be investing my savings into starting Matt's Whistling INC and scaling it to have an international presence. I must share the light to all the corners of this world. I could never thank you enough. It seems like we've truly helped each other. Best of luck with your bitch. God speed.

Learned it in a week. I d say the most important thing is understanding the airflow. Air goes from lungs to the small opening between tongue tip and front teeth. From there air goes to the "pocket" under the tongue and out. When I understod that it took me few days to master it. Just keep experimenting and you ll get it eventually. Good luck!

Lmao imagine being a hero just because you can whistle. Idk if you were sarcastic, but indeed I also just recently had a moment where a whistle "could've" saved a little boys life. I was on my bike heading home and saw this little boy running through the street. He was just running in straight line and wasn't looking around and paying attention to cars, bikes or anything. Once he was about to cross the intersection I noticed he wasn't slowing down to look left or right, so I whistled at him right before he was going to cross which grabbed his attention and made him stop. Luckily there were no cars, but situation could've played out way worse.

It took me 2 years to learn how to whistle normaly, then I wanted to whistle louder, so I learned how to whistle with four fingers, wich took about 6 years, then I came up with a way. I kept my tongue in the same position (as well as my mouth) and blew air and that actually worked, although it took maybe one year to learn. But I wan't satisfied with the results and now I'm here at 3 AM on a sunday morning 2020-02-09 (year-month-day). I still make the dogwhistle when I try (Yes I can make the real dogwhistle whistle too) but hot damn if I die trying I will learn some day, thanks for the great tips.

@@cunningham2010 you can do it! Keep practicing. You need to practice pushing your tongue against your upper lip to block the air. When a little bit of air slips out it should be in a stream and you can really feel the air hit your upper lip in a precise stream- like it should feel like your touching your lip with the eraser of a pencil or something. Once you have that you're half way there. After that, you need to move your tongue back and stick your lower jaw out a little more until you find the right angle to make the whistle. The air should hit the bottom of your upper lip and reflect down into your bottom lip. You dont need to blow out hard, try blowing softly at first until you hear a faint whistle, then increase how hard you blow out slightly. Dont quit! It takes time
@cunningham20104 жыл бұрын
Matt Burnett I wish I could have a way to send a video to where you could see maybe where I might be going wrong. Some of the videos I’ve heard from different people say that your lips need to be inside your mouth somehow. I also have a KZbin channel as well. Can’t remember who said it but the puckering is very good for doing songs in fact I’ve done a couple of songs just for fun and they sound like they’re pretty good for a beginner Whistler

@@cunningham2010 If you post a video and send me the link ill watch it and let you know. I don't know too much about youtube but maybe their is a way you can make the video private and send me the link that allows me to watch it. Your lips should be covering your teeth so I guess they are very slightly inside your mouth. Although saying that your lips should be inside your mouth is a confusing way to describe it.
