I love that she has her retired horses 🥰🥰
@carolynstine34652 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too. This should be the standard in how to care for a horse for his/her lifetime instead of tossing them away when done with them. The US has a lot to learn!
@saramclearen39482 жыл бұрын
That’s what I thought, too. She even still has her old pony!
@NightshadeGoddess2 жыл бұрын
@@carolynstine3465 This is not limited to the US, in germany many riders toss their old horses aside as well. Luckily the ones I associate with all still have their retired horses and keep them until the end.
@zeroheroes40812 жыл бұрын
@@NightshadeGoddess Because most people can't afford to keep their old horses if they want to continue riding. I've got ten horses and four of those are retired, but it's definitely not cheap enough for all to do the same. To me it doesn't matter if others don't keep their old horses, as long as they take good care of them during their lifetime and gives them a dignified death, so the horse is killed at home instead of being sent to a slaughterhouse.
@NightshadeGoddess2 жыл бұрын
@@zeroheroes4081 of course it's not cheap, but there are cheap-ish options for retired horses specifically (for about 200€ a month). If an animal gave you so much over the years sending them away seems inhumane. And you can't put them to sleep if they aren't in pain or there is a very good other reason (at least in german) so slaughter is the only option.

@@lauralvw8445 who? He doesn’t let the riders he’s interviewing talk? I think he lets them talk plenty - as an interviewer it’s important to keep the conversation flowing or there would be lots of awkward silences. I think Matt does a good job of maintaining the flow and keeping a balance. To each their own, I guess. 🤷🏻♀️
@shugar82042 жыл бұрын
@@lauralvw8445 The lovely woman in the interview was very shy and not out spoken, and so he had to work to keep the conversation flowing. He would ask a question or bring up something, and she would say a few words at most. She was not naturally flowing with conversation, which is no fault to her at all... English is not her first language and being on camera is nerve-racking, I would probably quiet too!!! Therefore, Matt had no choice but to continue to speak to keep the video entertaining - which in itself shows that he knows what he is doing in terms of interviews! 😊 If he didn't speak, she didn't speak, the video would be full of silence and awkward moments!

Very interesting insights. The stable really has everything a rider could wish for. My wish for the next tour would be to see a luxury active stable (I don't know if that's what it's called in English). A stable with different areas that the horse can choose for themselves, but in High class. I find this concept very interesting.

Do they really not know what horses need to have a happy life? Running free and having at least one good horse friend 24/7. Horses should NEVER be confined to a small space and stay inside, besides being injured or sick. Every horse needs a friend to play and run and scratch their backs and watch over theme when they sleep. Fact is, this boxes with the small rubber paddocks (doors surely closed during winter), are ridiculously small in square meters for such wonderful and big animals. How many square meters has her gym, her stable salon or even the entryway and the stable alley? They are all very big an generous compare to the ridiculously smal living quarters of the horses. So the owner can do however she pleases, and has all this freedom and pace to move around and amuse her self. In contrast her wonderful animals are in solitary prisons for life and confined to some lousy 100 square meter living space. (With exception of some 1h a day walking in a machine in a cercle) or standing lonely and blanked in a completely sterile paddock. How on earth can anyone that loves and knows horses think that this is ok, or that that is even luxury? Maybe luxury for the owner, but a solitary, sad and boring life for the horses. I love you Matt, but you need to visite other stables please. Hit-activity stables for exemple! Or come to my farm with 40 happy and free roaming horses. A place where even our stallions live in groups/families. A place where there is no unnecessary luxury but lots of friends and 24/7 liberty and lots of happiness. A refuge for all horses and a non profit where horse happiness comes before humain luxury.
