Okay I have seen a couple comments that I just can’t let go of and keep writing replies to in my head, and that is keeping me up. I just want to state that for some, how they see others’ interactions, is often colored by their own life experiences, and that makes it hard to see what the truth of the matter is. I see two individuals that have grown a lot in their time together, helped both through therapy and life being lived. I see mutual respect, and an understanding of who they are as individuals and as partners. I see strengths acknowledged and embraced, letting the other shine when it is the other’s passion for something that is the strongest in that moment. I see the effort being taken to stop themselves to listen to their partner, and the effort to speak up and search within for a true response. These are not simple things. This is a true partnership and a commitment to communication. You two are simply a joy to watch at this point in your journey. Yes I got spoiled by the spate of a video every Wednesday for a while, to feel bereft when this month has changed that some. You two are real, and so authentic in your videos that I feel honored to be invited into your lives for whatever you are comfortable sharing. Though at this point I feel like you’d be quite successful with you own “Clarkson’s farm” type show, but I also feel that could simply be too intrusive as well. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us.

100% behind you on keeping private matters private. Additionally, things like house prices and other costs (even your reno's) are different in every country so not sure why it would be relevant to others outside of the country you're in. More relevant to me is how you would plan something like that through to seeing the end result - particularly the horse related aspects. Matt, I had to stop the video at the 9:39 minute mark write this comment to let you know that reno vlogs are my most favorite of ALL! I want to see all of it, starting with the design process, then demolition, the clean up, the walls going up, insulation, the wall board, primer and even choosing the paint colors. Also, the mistakes, the fixes, disappointments and successes. The costs are interesting sometimes too, I watch a couple of great reno vlogs happening in France and they give the costs of a lot of the purchases, not the cost of personal labor to the workers but the cost of maybe paint if it's something special that others might want to buy or the cost of a hand made window if it's something special that adds character. These vlogs are the most fun to watch for me. Please make it a series and then make your normal vlogs along with the reno vlogs. I'd LOVE to see your parents working on projects and their insights if possible. They don't have to speak, a time lapse is great too. Many of the reno vlogs are huge with hundreds and hundreds of followers. People will even watch 20 minutes of tearing down a wall and then sweeping up the rubble because it is so satisfying to see work that they can't do themselves plus it inspires people to make changes in their home. Right now I'm sitting here thinking that you need to get over there and film so I don't miss anything, lol! I'm SO EXCITED!

When Matt said he realises how lucky you are to own this property, I thought this is why I enjoy watching... you are both so normal and very likeable... this is your reward for all the hard work and dedication. I'm looking forward to the renovations, the design and decorating... also Jesse's veggie garden... Maybe it would be good for you to learn the cultures and norms of other countries. Saying people who discuss money have bad manners, when in some countries it is completely normal and open to do so. The large dogs are great! They can be aggressive (just doing their job!) and may have shorter lifespans. If the very large breed dogs is too much dog, one of my Dalmatians loved horses and was fiercely protective! She saved me from a snake! She lived 16.5 years! Also, my fearless Dutch Shepherd is at least 15 now -- she has saved me several times from trespassing creeps. Both breeds love humans, too. They calm down the people and the animals with their loyal and confident presence. They are so intelligent! Even my Golden Retriever saved me from another creepy hiker. Mine never attacked any human -- their awareness and alerts (communication) take care of you. 🐾

Agree 100% about a Guardian dog'(s)...My Anatolian/Phyeres cross fiercely protected the mares and foals. One mare was older and he slept along side the mare & her foal. He would even curl up with the baby. We didn't worry about fox, coyote, mountain lion or bears. They never came on the property with the dogs around. The dogs also give warning when predators came close to property...which is a huge plus.

You should never compare where you are in life. Three, it’s all relative. Your ‘expensive’ might not be my ‘expensive’ or vice-versa.

1. Yes to in-depth, detailed vlogs about the renovation! 2. Your finances are no one's business but your own. 3. That said, I agree that sharing some of the costs associated with the barn, fields, indoor, etc., could be really insightful and helpful to others looking to do something similar! 4. What's Steve's website?! And we never heard how his date went after his Unstable appearance! 5. Jesse, at 44:20 you said, "I can't believe you just put it in there like that... I'm climaxed!" You can't say things like that! Lololol! You even made Matt blush! Lolol. 6. So happy for you both! What an exciting time in your lives. You have both worked so hard and earned everything you have. Enjoy it!

Finances are nobody’s business! I love love loved my vinyl horse fencing,three boards across ,strong,safe no splinters beautiful white, no maintenance. Gates were easy to use, stayed level. I had it for 15 years with no problems. Good luck with your adventure,can’t wait to meet your new horse and find out what you name him😊

I actually love my New Zealand fencing 5 strand white poly covered. It is safe for animals crossing and if a tree falls on it, it pops back up once removed. I love the look of vinyl, but where I live not practical due to rolling pastures.

Matt, just decide between you on an area for the vegetable garden, then the raised beds can be easily constructed and soil added to a few of them ready for the Spring sowing of vegetables. Don't need to develop the whole area all at once, even one raised bed would provide gardening pleasure and a little food for the first year. Gardening is a great way to unwind when you have a busy life. 🙂

I agree. Your finances are your own business. I think we are all excited to follow your journey as you convert this house and property into the home of your dreams. Best wishes!

Jesse, you could start small on the veggie garden already this year. There is so many vegetables you don't have to make a huge land for, and still get plenty of veggies! Tomatos, cucumber and pepper can be planted in medium/larger pots and stand along side a wall that gets a lot of sun. You could also get a pallet collar for lettuce and simillar, then you could always move it if you want to for next season 🥬🍅
@arnicepernice865611 күн бұрын
some ready painted galvanised raised beds look good easy to assemble and easy to cover to keep birds off. Great for herbs, salad, leaves to start with.
@chasingfences130211 күн бұрын
A couple of raised planter boxes would be a good start this year until you decide on a permanent location where a fence is needed to keep rabbits and other critters out.
@FusRoDarshinae11 күн бұрын
Matt is correct that for a vege garden to properly feed a few people you need a decent size, some infrastructure and planning etc, but also it is true that a garden no matter how small or basic can give just as much in a therapeutic way, even if the yield is very small. it can be great for mental health to do things like tending a garden and just enjoying it. And for a beginner you dont want to overwhelm yourself, maybe just start with a couple of garden beds but have room to expand later. Your flower gardens at the old house were stunning, both the structured ones and the meadow/ wild areas, so im sure you will create something lovely. Look forward to seeing this new adventure with the buildings and farm land unfold!

I was thinking over the post couple of days that I must’ve missed a video (or two) from you both, and here you are! Popped up with a great, long, really interesting and heartwarming video. Especially love your interactions with each other in this video 💕. Like many other subscribers, I’m so pleased that you have this property to make your own, and we’ll live our lives, vicariously through yours. Share as much or as little as you want, no pressure, but we wait with baited breath for your next videos 😸. There are a number of stables near where I live. The largest one, huge barn, multiple paddocks and a trotting (harness racing) track, has the vinyl, three bar fencing one of the subscribers mentioned. It looks smart and clean (gives an unobstructed view for the stable hands). There’s also an electric fence on the side along the road. I was looking forward to you telling us about your horse Matt! Now I’m on the edge of my seat until your next video! Take care of yourselves. Lynne, Southern Ontario, Canada. 🎅💕💕

idk but their timetable to move into the new property seems very ambitious. end of January? no matter how good the former owners maintained the property before I would move in all the power lines and water pipes need to get exchanged to make them safe and workable for the next 40yrs or so.
