In case you’re curious, “Cat loves food, ye-yeah, yeah, yeah” is an actual line from the original Funimation dub. Yamaha says the line to his cat friend Puah as she’s drinking something, and when questioned he says it’s a jingle from a commercial he saw. The line is obviously a stupid joke written for the dub, so Team Four Star decided to run with it and turn it into an actual jingle that Yamaha sings. Listen carefully and you’ll hear other versions of it in this season.

The androids have about as much spiritual "energy" (ki) as a normal human with a power level of, like, 5. Not enough to track them down from a distance or pick them out of a crowd. But they have a fuckton of battery energy that they can use to fight.

In case you didn't get the joke, let me explain. People had started to notice that characters that read the "Please Support The Official Release" card ended up dying in the episode. It wasn't a 100% certainty, but people definitely picked up on it. When Yamcha was reading it, he got worried he was going to die. That "Cat Food Song" by Yamcha has an amazing story behind it. You should watch the commentary videos afterwards. By the way, you will start hearing a version of the song from here on out. Keep listening for it. Say what you want about Yamcha, he ran towards the screaming woman. Yamcha is never a coward. "Oh no! Yamcha has been Yamcha'd" Poor Yamcha. They went too far in this episode. I love how they pegged Piccolo as the wasteland expert.

11:00 the reason why Dr.Gero created 19 and modified himself as 20 and as too why they aren't really stronger despite being made later will become obvious in the coming episodes when you meet 17 and 18, his creations aren't exactly perfect to say the least. 19 is a lot simpler and easier to manage which is why its his go too.

Answering all of Mattables' questions week 21: 1. There's 60 episodes plus the movies. 2. We don't know for sure when he left earth, but it was definitely to train. Whether or no it was to avoid changing diapers is up to interpretation. This show says yes. 3. Were you thinking of Muscle Man? 4. Sensing energy is based on life energy + ki so since the androids are a cyborg (half robot half organic) and an android (all robot) they can't be sensed. 5. "That's just an explosion, those happen a lot around Mommy." 6. The order of the Androids (although 3 of them are cyborgs: 20, 17, and 18) is weird because 16(at least for the android and cell arcs) > 17/18 > 20/19/14/15. It's hard to say where 13 lies because there's before he powers up and after. But he's definitely stronger than 20/19/14/15. 7. The trucker crashing is real. 8. "I can see the future" was the Bardock special with the Alien. No the Episode of Bardock with orange Frieza but the other one. 9. He didn't get pierced through his Heart or lungs I guess.

Technically there are 60 episodes, but more than 60 videos with episode numbers. Episodes 10, 30, and 60 each have 3 videos, so there are 68 videos (plus 1 for the epilogue)

I always love that vegeta was wearing his armor during sex. When she called him to her room in the last episode (maybe episode before.. whatever), he was NOT wearing armor... so he went and put it on. What did he think she was going to do to him???

The androids numbers are just the numbers in which they were made. 16 17 and 18 are the strongest but each were considered failed projects. 16 for being not properly programmed and being able to feel compassion, while 17 and 18 were to powerful and uncontrollable as they were the only ones not purely mechanical. 19 had none of the problems the others had, but was far weaker

​@@MattablesI imagine people have told you about the hidden images during the solar flares, but they can be really hard to find because they're like a single frame. It can be pretty hard to constantly pause and unpause to get the timing correct, so a helpful tip is that the comma and period keys on KZbin rewind/advance the video by one frame! Also the J key rewinds by 10 seconds, K pauses the video, and L advances the video by 10 seconds

Yeah, there are one or two surprisingly gory parts in the manga. Goku kicking Drum in the head so hard it exploded is another one. When Freeza cut himself in half in the manga you could see some guts hanging out of him.

Those are two completely different definitions of energy(spiritual energy and electricity/kinetic/thermal/nuclear/chemical energy types) and they have nothing to do with eachother. I feel that maybe Gohan meant life energy to be synonymous with Chi and the Androids being mostly mechanical not having Chi anymore and their abilities and attacks being powered by electricity or some other energy source in the mechanical realm. People often confuse the definition of energy and how it can't be created or destroyed with spiritual energy and that is a separate thing entirely and should not be directly correlated imo

I just noticed something, and I can't believe it took me this long, but I've noticed for Goku specifically that a lot of the time, the symbols for Turtle Hermit School/King Kai's symbol on his gi are missing. I'm wondering if those were edited out for some reason, or if it was just missing a lot of times in the animation, and I only just now noticed after watching the series and a lot of reactions.
