Thanks so much for uploading! One of the holy grails of old Sesame Street skits; had tried looking for it years ago without success!

When the bridge blew up and the man's reaction to it, that is a prime example as to how one can abuse and misuse their power.

This skit makes me laugh. This debut was from Episode #2614 (Season 20) which aired on May 11, 1989.

I remember I used to have a toaster which resembled the one in this video. It was brown and chrome instead of pink.

Thank goodness for the little girl who saved the day when she pushed the UP button to rebuild the bridge as if the man never knocked it down in the first place(what was he thinking).

The man who was responsible doesn't want to get caught by the cops for destroying that bridge from his up and down remote

I am curious as to where this remote is today, any of you have thoughts on this?
@edwardwbalen3 жыл бұрын
This remote would come in very handy if elevators were remote controlled. The buttons on the remote mirror elevator up and down call buttons.

Remember the part where the man pressed the "Down" button on the remote which caused the bridge to explode and crash into the river? That clip was actually stock footage of the Driving Park Avenue Bridge demolition in Rochester, NY. Did you know that the Driving Park Bridge was first built in 1890 and was demolished with controlled explosives on July 9, 1986? Here are two links and you'll see what I mean. 1. media.democratandchronicle.com/retrofitting-rochester/driving-park-bridge 2. www.rochestersubway.com/topics/2012/11/driving-park-bridge-and-lower-falls/

Incredible... and as kids we would never guess that because of our illusions of Television

Just saw either story, and it was easy to see why: as convenient as the bridge was, it wasn't perfect-it had to be closed for repairs over and over again as the years went on.

@Gabe PL (I know you already may know, but just for other people) Simple... they can't make the bridge go back up, it's literally been destroyed. so they just REWIND the footage. See... even the explosions are reserving

Look at it this way. When the little girl pressed the up button, she made the water go up while making the destroyed bridge go back up. When the man made the bridge go down, he set the remote down and crept away thinking, "I gotta get outta here before the owner of that bridge blames me for destroying it."
@animemangafan19873 ай бұрын
Actually they rewind the footage of demolishing the bridge in Rochester
