To succeed, a player needs a a mix of raw talent and desire. Some can make it with 100% raw talent and only 10% desire. Others can make it with 25% raw talent and 100% desire. But when you have 0% of either talent or desire (CM in this instance), it ain't gonna happen. I hope he figures it out, but so far he hasn't. CU is 3-1 now and don't miss him. He no longer matters since he isn't even playing now. Just another player with talent who can't work well with structure. He is nothing new and not worth talking about at this point. Make him earn his airtime and attention by getting on the field, not for being off it.

I kinda feel bad for him. Hear me out. I don’t want him given anything. What I mean is I know there are people who start on teams who don’t have his abilities. Slowly he’s starting to understand all the things his high school coach was trying to impress upon him. He was hoping Coach Prime could get through to him, but McClain had some growing to do. And he had to hear it from others. He’s learning from the coach at UF. But I think he also learned when he entered the portal and people / coaches / teams stayed away. It’s not too late for him but he’s slowly getting it.
