Was I too harsh on the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross? Let me know!
@normanafif1268

Definitely not too harsh. The car is a POS - Much like everything else in the Mitsubishi line up. Now Renault have stakes in Mitsu, I would imagine we will start to see newer Mitsubishi's be rebadged Renaults. Which in quality, and drivability will be light years ahead of the current crop.. .

@@Sp33dYAU Yea the express is a bit of a sore point. But the more modern Renault models will suit the line up. Clio - Mirage Capture - ASX Koleos - Outlander It will be a much improved line up from the rubbish they are selling now.

You do mention a lot of positives about the vehicle, including power, steering, comfort, expected reliability, exterior looks and warranty. I have a 2022 Eclipse Cross with leather seats, 2 sunroofs, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, upgraded stereo and even better looking exterior with the SEL trim (USA) & touring package. And was able to successfully negotiate pricing. I absolutely love my 2022 Eclipse Cross.

The only thing that matters is if you personally like something or not. If you listened to all the reviews on KZbin you’d never be happy about anything! They are just a distraction.

It's the easiest car to a person who does their own Maintenance . The oil filter stops and can't be over tightened . 2 screws removes the skid plate . Easiest oil change in any car . It has a transmission oil dipstick. You can also replace the transmission fluid yourself . A do it yourself dream

We traded up from a 2018 Tucson and the EC is just so much nicer to drive. Much quieter and smoother and more responsive engine. Ok the interior is a bit quirky with the excess silver and piano black but at least it's not as drab as most of the opposition. I don't know about the base seats but those in our Aspire are very comfortable and way better than the Tucson. Seeing you tested the AWD LS and it cost $6k more than the base model, maybe you should have tested the AWD capability or a least explained thats were the extra cost went. Overall yours was a really flawed review and you really need to get a bit more serious about your job if this is what you want to do going forward. We tested the price equivalent cx30, Kona and Seltos and found them too cramped, noisy and jerky ride and gearshift. And let's face most cars in this segment look really dull, where the EC has a good dose of flair ... at least you acknowledged that. But overall a really poor, unprofessional review 3 out 10.

It was supposed to replace the ASX but the ASX sold so well Mitsubishi didn't dare pull the plug.Yes the ASX is old but does everything right and has Toyota like reliability and very popular on the used car market = excellent resale value .fuel economy and performance on the eclipse is no better than the ASX

I love the quirky styling and space. I test drove it and drivability is actually pretty good. I do think you are giving it a bit of a bad rap- Mitsubishi base models always were nasty that being ES and LS variants. If you drive a base model Kia or Hyundai and they too are plastic fantastic nasty with stripped back features. I disregarded it because for the money there is better.

So the car is not good because of the indicator lever , ac knobs and the piano black. But apart from that its reliable, drives comfortable, has adequate power ,looks good Seems like you just nitpicky for no reason. The car is certainly not as bad as your car review skills.

@JIMMY it is reliable and does not burn oil. There are no issues with piston rings either. It has a transmission cooler straight from the factory so no cvt issues. You just need to change engine oil and Transmission oil on time and that's it.

I bought the Exceed trim 3 years ago. It's been quite reliable. Not very fuel efficient but then that's probably due to me! I don't understand why people hate this car so much. The boot is quite spacious. I've carried so much stuff from Ikea etc. I've been on long road trips and it's always been fun. Worth every dollar! But, you do get a lot of goodies like decent safety systems, 360 camera, leather seats, sun (panoramic) roof etc. I wish it had rear AC vents. Other than that it's a pretty nice car for most working class people who aren't going to take it to a track! lol. BTW, your review is fine for the trim and I did gave it a thumbs up.

I have a rental FWD EC based model for a few days now. I also think the interior material are quite cheap, from the radio head unit knobs to the flimsy steering mounted paddle shifters. The silver trim will have scratches on them easily with normal use. I can also see Mitsubishi tried to save $$ by using the same dash boards panel then just covered the start/ stop button on base model and key hole on upper models with a round cap. I think all these things reflect the cut corner quality and poor aesthetic of the car interiors . I also find the front seat are not quite supported around shoulders. I think the adaptive cruise control and lane departure should be a standard safety for all models as many other manufacturers have already included for their cars. On the bright side, the car is quite roomy and quiet on the road. Little bit body roll but it’s acceptable for this type of car and the price. It has good acceleration at low speed too and quite good on fuel consumption. I would only buy the base model given that the adaptive cruise control ,lane departure and auto headlights included.

Not having seen it in person the interior looks about the same grade as most subcompact SUVs. Piano black trim is pretty ubiquitous in many, many cars today (unfortunately) so to single this one out for an extended rant doesn't seem fair. Its just an odd, unhelpful review. You point out quite a few more positives than negatives (for a vehicle in this class) and then super concentrate on a few interior material choices for the primary reason you hate it. Honestly, I'd still check one out because I don't place a lot of credence in your opinion.

we drove the phev one - its heavy, uses up the battery too quickly around town, doesn't have enough power from the engine for highway passing / hills etc . It is comfortable to drive though, but outshone in all areas by the Ford Escape phev.

I bought one just over six months ago, driven 18 000 km, and regret it. Fuel consumption given as 2ltr/100km, reality is rarely less than 7. On autobahns (120 - 130kmh) you can expect 9 - 10 ltr/100k. Range is therefore inadequate, especially in France where there are often long distances between junctions and fuel stations. Several times I tanked with only just over 1ltr in the tank. The navi is next to useless in that as soon as the sun gets near the horizon the screen goes into night mode and is unreadable. I tried finding a route to the nearest filli8ng station ... it took me to a green field and then to a station that sold only diesel for trucks. Use a smart phone with Google Maps or Michelin. The range in the batteries is only about 30 km... I don't bother to charge up any more, especially as electricity is a more expensive fuel than petrol in Germany. Tank contents indication is inaccurate. Example: Distance to cheap fuel, 150km. Indicated range in tank, 200+. 10km before the fuel station the fuel contents shows 0 The rear hatch is a problem in underground car parks with a low ceiling because of the angle below the rear window. The light in the luggage area is useless. It needs to be repositioned so that it shines down on the luggage area when the back is open. Plus points: it is comfortable and quiet except when the engine is working hard. Lights are excellent. Four-wheel drive in snow is superb.

Dear friend if you bought the PHEV you need to charge the battery. The power train is used to charge the electric engine and this procedure is much more effective if you start with a full battery. If you don't charge the battery you will consume petrol.

You will have a working vehicle for roughly 2.5 years then it will fall apart. After 5 years parts will be difficult to find. All the money you save will go down the drain in parts to repair, if you could even find the parts. Don't count on amazon to find parts for Chinese vehicle either. Vs someone with a mitusbishi or toyota that won't have to change major parts for atleast 8 years. Parts will be available from your local market , Japanese, American, Canadian and European market. People that make smart purchasing decisions smart will stay far from Chinese made vehicles.
