I have slight recession on my temples since my early 20s, I’m so happy it didn’t get worse. I’m turning 39 this year and I’d say I have better hair than 95% of men my age. Still, i always wondered how my hair would look with a perfect hairline, I’d probably need 1000 graft for my hair to be absolutely perfect. I don’t have any recession at the crown so it’s likely I’ll never lose my hair, I’ll take that as a victory and am grateful for this.

I had a hair transplant in my early twenties. Biggest regret/mistake in my life. I shaved them off in the end but can't shave my head now die to the scaring where the plugs were taken out at the back. Nadal, like me panicked at losing his hair at such a young age and fell into the same trap.

wait if you get a hair transplant and then shave it... whats the downside? is some small scars really so bad that its the "biggest regret" ? I am thinking about getting a hair transplant soon, I have diffuse thinning that I was maintaining with rogaine foam but I am starting Finasteride as well. I want to get a transplant to thicken my hair but keep the same hairline. In Turkey the transplants are not super expensive. I dont see a downside at all. If I have to time to take off and recover and the money to spend I would rather try it and shave later then shave now but wonder what if.... Idk this comment seemed stupid. Usually if you get a transplant and maintain it with vitamins. shampoo,. and medication you should not have a bad result. Besides as the patient you can dictate what hairline you want so.... am I crazy?

Great video! However, despite of having it on the title, I don't think you covered the aspect of why he is STILL losing hair. My best guess is, despite having multiple transplants, he never started taking medication, which is understandable. It's unfortunate that despite all the work that he had done for his hair, he steadily keeps losing it anyway and will eventually run out of his donor hair. No matter how hard it will be for him to eventually shave the hair off, thankfully he is a good looking guy, with a nicely shaped head. He will still look great.

Many people think that Rafa's hair loss started in 2011 due to the stress of losing so much to Djokovic LOL...mmm I don't agree with that. I have been following Rafa since 2005 and I began to notice something strange in his hair from 2009 and more noticeable in 2010, in the final of the US Open that year against Djokovic you could clearly see the thinning and less density in the crown, that is, Nadal began to go bald very young between 23 and 24 years old. I have started to lose hair now after 30 I am 33 years old and I am like Rafa at 25 years old (2011)

If you actually paid attention you could already see his hair was thinning out in the 2008 Wimbledon final in the middle parting of the hair plus at the back was getting more string like. The last time he actually had a full head of hair and density was around 2006/2007. As tennis players aren't allowed to use Finasteride as it's banned by the ATP he couldn't maintain his hair after his hair transplant. So it was basically pointless getting a transplant.

What you can do in the case of baldness? Get the shaving razor and shave that thing, it is not that big of a deal if you have hair or not. You can't cheat the process, sooner or later it will get to you. Lebron and Nadal are example of that.

Yeah, I started slowly thinning in my late teens. I never really worried about it. It's no big deal. I stay in shape, and just cut my hair shorter and shorter. Now for the last 20 years or so it's clean shaven. It looks pretty good!!

What is he supposed to do? Hair cloning is not a thing yet, so the only option to treat hair loss would be fin/dut. You can’t get on finasteride while you’re a world class athlete. Muscle weakness is a known side effect of the drug and being in perfect shape for the next grand slam is far more important than having good hair.

@@itom1994 I’ve been training since high school and been in shape ever since, not sure what’s your argument here. I just want to find out the truth. That being said, I’ve seen morbidly obese alcoholics with liver failure having NW0 hairlines, it’s a bit more complicated than one might think. I’m all for exercise, but professional sport is not healthy and is not for everybody imo. You don’t have to be a top level athlete to be healthy - moderation is key. And no - I don’t want to make excuses. Andre Agassi and Nadal (the video is literally about him) are famous examples, from runners Asafa Powell is one from the top of my head.

The balding issues, at men, are related to the width of the scalp tissue, the thinner it is, the less blood and nutrients are flowing to irrigate the hair's follicles. It's like trying to grow grass, but the soil layer under it, it is just too thin. There are common cases of fat men, with hair all over the body, that are bald, because on the top of their head's skull, they have nothing under the skin, no fat, no flesh, no muscle, nothing. So this is the problem the doctors should try to solve for the future generations in preventing balding, just make somehow the head of the man, to keep some fat below the skin, at the top of the head. That's why kids and women are not getting bald, cause they have smaller heads and so, more fat under their head's skin. I'm surprised that hormones' are blamed so much for baldness, the hormones could have an impact, but only indirectly. Reducing the hormone levels, looks like a very hack-ish workaround, that doesn't sound good at all for the human's health.
