Ok, I just got him and out of the box - the fig is better than the movie lol :) Only thing is the stand make his cape just...limp. I actually love this fig - I can't stop humming the U2 song while setting him up. I want more!!! Give me wonder woman! Give Reeve and Hackman!! Give me Keaton, Nicholson, Pfieffer, DeVito, Carrey, Schwarzeneggar, O'Donnell, Thurman - hell give me Michael Gough, Richard Pryor or Bob the Goon!!! You can keep Alicia though lol...Oh and Mark Hamill's Trickster!!! Anyone know how to make his cape fan out - I got him posed like he's flying up and away on the grappling gun and the cape fanned out would be sick. I REALLY love these two figs - next to my WWE Mattel figures (the only other line I collect) this is my new fav.

BIG UPDATE FOLKS!!!! As it turns out this Batman DOES indeed have a NECK HINGE. Though completely stuck during the review, I just found out he has one. while boil and popping off the head I discovered he has one. The boil and pop loosened up the hinge and now Batman has lots of head articulation.

I agree that the head articulation makes it very difficult to do this figure right. At some point they had to make a decision between ascetic accuracy and articulation. If money were no object a soft headsculpt with a rubber cowl that went all the way down but still allowed for posing may have worked. Like the neca 89 Batman only softer.

I'm sure if this line works out and people are buying the line they'll get to the Justice in no time. But we have Mafex ,sh figuarts and Mezco seem to be doing more and more of the Justice league (look like movie flash is on the way) so who knows. Support these changes from Mattel and hopefully ankle pivot will come and we'll see a Reeve superman and maybe the long awaited Keaton batman, it is the 30th year anniversary next year.

That batman head is a deal breaker. There's really no excuse because there has been multiple batman figures released by Mattel that have normal looking ears. Maybe I'll pick it up and sculpt a new head for it but I'm getting tired of having to customize dc figures. I enjoy doing customs but not because I have to.

Awesome review! I always liked Kilmer as Batman. Seeing him get a modern figure with those extra goodies is too great to pass up. Mattel's really stepping up their game!

Finally someone who is WILLING to improve the figure they bought, instead of just complaining. Maybe a thicker neck and "longer" nose would've helped with the design, so his head wouldn't look too small. But again, easy fixes.

I did not dislike Val Kilmer as Batman. I wish we had also gotten a Batman Returns figure. That was my favorite suit, I liked it better than the 1989 suit.

Hey Brad, I must tell you that I believe they fixed the issue with the cape. It seems to me that you have a very early version. I ordered mine along with Flash off Amazon. The cape on mine actually begins lower and much closer to his Bat emblem and not from his back. I had a feeling this was going to be corrected from the original pictures. Maybe you have a prototype?

Hahaha (at the very end) Ohh crap...wrong Batman! Great review Brad and love your channel man thanks heaps! I'll definitely be trying to improve this figure too and will be really interested in seeing how you go with a custom cape and how you attach it. I'm kind of new to collecting and haven't customised but there are so many things I want to add/change with different figures. The main thing for me, other than the cape and shaving the ears, is widening that terrible mouth area! How they could make it so small and "rounded" (like Bale's), is beyond me. ...It looks like the sculpt is there but the paint has covered the square corners of the opening. Hopefully I'll just repaint the skin/cheek area to make it look wider/more open.

I DEMAND them to make: - Keaton Batman - Pfeiffer Catwoman - DeVito Penguin - Nicholson Joker - Reeve Superman - Arnie Freeze - Carrey Riddler - Tommy Lee Two Face I'll be furious if they make Clooney Batman with Nipples. I wouldn't mind an Alicia Silverstone Batgirl, but make her look hot. Much better if they remake TDK Characters in this scale.

:40...Noticed the top of card box is creased all the way across, B. Many times i would encounter figures on the shelf@TRU or somewhere with this. It was a 'toy scalper' putting a crease in it in order to decrease the value of the figure. (Which i didnt care cause im not a greedy toy scalper, just a collector). Gosh i hated that! Juss sayin'😒

That’s not something I’ve encountered before, although I wouldn’t put it past one. This was just sloppy careless employees. I’ve even had a few figures come with the boxes cut from opening the case.

Nice review! I subbed. I’m disappointed with the figure though. Yeah the cape sucks, but for me it’s the head sculpt that is the worst. I like how NECA didn’t add neck articulation as Keaton couldn’t move his head much in the film. Kilmer’s mask is very similar as he couldn’t move much. Watching you demonstrate the neck articulation makes me realize it’s completely useless that they did it, as he still barely moves. The ears are bad too! Looks more like Bale’s mask but with rounded ears.

Did you ever modify the face? Batman Forever has always been a guilty pleasure of mine and I love this figure but the face needs work. We need 1/6 Hot Toys figures from Batman Forever :)

I never did do the face yet, no. It’s a bit shinny and the ear-horns are too thick but other than that it’s not too bad if it’s painted correctly. I haven’t done anything with it yet though.
