Yeah, the issues have become very noticeable of late. My DM Punk, once I changed the hands for the first time, every subsequent change has left the hands really loose. Also, my TMNT Cody is unbelievably stiff in the legs. Even heating him up has done very little to fix him. It feels like he's going to snap every time I pose him. I love the aesthetics of the pinless joints, but it feels like we need to go back to the drawing board.

There are a lot of unnecessary, weird moves going on with Mattel - And it's proving expensive for people. I don't appreciate buying a skinny Solo Sikoa and then having to buy a corrected one later. And I don't appreciate being offered a basic Dominik, only to have the same figure come out as an elite a few weeks later ... Same thing with Omos, and many others.- That's what I consider, "Being f**ked with". I may as well throw the first figure in the fire. You can't sell them - No one wants to buy those crap versions....Just money down the drain. (Or in Mattel's pocket)

It is so fucking ridiculous. It’s getting worse and worse. Sure they LOOK the best they ever have but they FEEL the fucking worst. There’s no excuse. The prices going up and the issues are also just going up. They haven’t addressed it, they know it’s bad due to all the posts that are being made. It’s getting harder to collect due to quality control. Seems like the important thing for them now is QUANTITY OVER QUALITY now.

It could be several factors into the quality of the figures. One is our countries relationship with China being poor, so Mattel had to change to Vietnam. A new factory means, having to learn how to make the figures all over. It also could be that the higher ups are trying to cut back on the quality because of the economy being so bad. They feel people are going to buy the figures anyway, and let’s face it we are. So they cut corners to make a cheaper product. I know I was disappointed with the LWO 5 pack Santos Escobar. I’ve bought 3 of him, and haven’t found one that hasn’t had an issue. Waist needed to be heated to move. Cracks in the back of the torso, and even two left feet. I have one MOC, and I’m pretty sure that one probably has an issue. If you’re a figure photographer or KZbinr opening the figure, you’ll see the poor QC. But if you’re a collector and leaving it MOC, you’ll never know how poor it’s gotten. Just maybe that’s the other reason, Mattel is catering to the MOC and the scalpers.

I cringe every time I pull a figures hand off to swap it. I'm pretty sure it makes it permanently loose. It seems like you need to heat them first. Or you can kind of fix a loose wrist by heating it up and pinching it closed till it cools.

All the changes you mentioned are hurting the product severely (seriously, those new boot molds look like clown shoes). I'm also noticing a lot more paint application errors recently. Misalignment of the paint or several smudges.

It's always "cost cutting" measures (more money for the executives) and in the end the quality is the first one to take the hit. That happened with the Power Rangers collector line. It went from China to Vietnam and the decline in quality was noticeable. Yes it's a business and profit is their end goal. What sucks is that people will still pay when the prices increase yet they are getting subpar quality compared to before. One thing is hay the price is increasing but the quality remains. Another is the price is increasing here's something "new" but its at a cost of lower quality.

Quality definitely took a dip, a lot of things aren't there design wise, the pinless legs are a pain, and the feet part of the boots are big, Street Fighter style lol. The main problem is there’s some kind of glue that’s getting on the ball joints during production. The my newest ricochet, Jamal and Rosey all have this problem. You can heat the crotch up and they’ll actually articulate. But then it dries again. Goes back to immobile legs. If this continues there’s no reason for me to buy these figures.

Talking about missing tattoos on figures; I got the Headbangers 2-Pack and both of them are missing their big arm tattoos! They both have their spider web tats on their other arms, which is cool, but the picture they used on the back of the box shows them both from their side with those tattoos that are missing! There's an inconsistency that is frustrating and that comes out clearest when you get two of the same figure. I got two of the MNW Series 1 Hogan and on one the head pops off if I just look at it, where the other seems perfect. I am sure others on here watch multiple reviewers like Kyle, Alex, Bretto etc and issues identified in one review are different to those in others, if any at all, so I really feel like it's a case of good or bad luck whether or not I get problems out of the box. One thing I do know, as they make themselves so visible, is that the guys at Mattel will be just as frustrated as we are and working to sort it out in whatever way possible. There has been much more talk of the issues of late and no doubt they are aware of the feelings amongst collectors which I want to echo is they are delivering some of the best design of any toy line out there but very inconsistent execution.

There producing too many figures and reusing too many parts…especially heads. Cody is a prime example of this. They need to stop releasing so many lines. The recent bafs and Raw vs Nitro is full of rereleases and repaints. It’s really bad. As for factory errors…yeah there’s been alot more. My UE Undertaker I got a few days ago has a bumpy leg that won’t slot back properly for example

The pinless knee joints don't bother me to much as I've noticed after moving them around they kinda loosen them selves up to a comfortable stiffness. My biggest issue has been the new ball jointed legs. I remember when a figure had ball joints over pinecone joints it was extremely exciting and made that figure feel special and so buttery smooth in hand. However these new ball joints are killing me like I recently got the new Elite 111 Tony D'Angelo & Elite 111 Cody Rhodes, and the Tony feels so perfect everything about him feels perfect but the Cody feels a little off in the ball joints. I was able to fix it by heating up the legs, popping them off, trimming the lines off the ball joints just a little and applying some Treadmill Silicone Oil to them and now they feel great! I just hope I don't have to start doing this to all my figures

Something similar happened with Hasbro & the Power Rangers line towards its end. When they changed to windowless packaging, they also switch factory locations, and the new factory quality was no where near what it needed to be. Loose joints, and floppy figures. Hopefully once Mattel has gotten some feedback, they’ll be able to straighten out the issues.

I have some figs and it's true pinless legs on The Usos Bloodline are so tight but nothing that hair dryer can't solve. Now i'm really worry for Vietnam, SH Figuarts have the same issue with the figs that were made on Vietnam, China has a minimun quality control, we need to raise the voice and demand good figs for our money.

I did notice this the other day I was comparing the new Pete dunne elite to my Carmelo Hayes elite. And there’s a clear difference my hayes feels so high quality but my Pete dunne is a bit off

I agree tbh, becuase if you get a good figure, its amazing (legends ultimate vader, judt got it yesterday and i think its incredible). But when you get a bad one, its VERY noticeable. Got the elite 111 cody and for whatever reason only the mic holding hands plug in very poorly/loosely, and the pinless knees are a chore as they are majority of the time (please just stick to pinned knees mattel🙏). Another thing i have is with my carmelo hayes and my chad gable where the leg joint is a little weird on the kick forward, but you can still move it. But over time, i realized that trying to move it while it was still kinda stuck was making the joint itself break away which i have never had before. Its judt unfortunate that the figs are more expensive, sometimes a little hard to grab, and then theyll turn out worse for wear not all the time, but more consistently than they used to.

2 figures that I’ve bought this year that come to mind is the ultimate edition Monday Night Wars Bret Hart and the newest ultimate edition Cody Rhodes. Bret’s legs/knees were so tight I legitimately thought I was going to break them just trying to bend the knees. And I was on the hunt for 3 months looking for the Cody. I finally found one a couple of weeks ago and one of his legs is buttery smooth and bends. The other leg doesn’t sit quite the same. It has that weird kick back and when looking at the leg pegs in the crotch it’s like they’re not aligned. I don’t know, it’s just very frustrating.

Couldn’t be more right which is a damn shame, bc like you said the figures have never looked better (thats why i got back into collecting in late july of this year, i had stopped since 2015 before this) when i was younger i really didn’t have many complaints of about how the figures moved/posed besides your mark henrys of the world but my gawd its bad now, just opened the royal rumble set and of course the cody was trash but my diesel where it connects at the thigh just completely falls off and has a massive gap whenever i try push it in 🤦🤦 Every figure has QCissues besides the khali , I truly couldn’t be more disappointed or concerned, great vid as always man and youre the reason i got back into collecting so thank you bro!!

I am only a wrestling collector as far as figures go ( very dedicated to it and is my favorite hobby ( well I tie watching wrestling and collecting figures as the same hobby). I have to agree with you there is some wild and weird money grabs going on as far as the Top picks , the best of ….. the vault series …. Best of Monday night wars ….. greatest hits , greatest hits legends, and I’m sure I am missing many re release lines ( I get it , it’s a business but the high value really wanted by the fans could really be released with One re release line for ring side , one re release line in general, and a re release ultimate edition line , those 3 lines should be able to cover plenty of figures we want as well as plenty of cash grabs for Mattel. The quality thing to me is a very large topic that is not strictly a Mattel issue , wrestling figures to me JAZZWARES has many more QC ISSUES THEN MATTEL. The staining issue going on 3 years later is absolutely ridiculous, still til this day if I have loose Aew figures I still wash the soft goods or simply won’t use them witch is absolutely ridiculous, if I pay 42.99 plus for Supreme line figures ( witch overall the Supreme Line is one of the best lines in wrestling figures , the Cm Punk supreme Walmart was figure of the year last year , the 2 Cody’s 2 Kenny’s ( not including C.C. 1/1000 I have that on the way , the 2 Malaki Blacks even though the 1/3000 was kinda a glorified re paint of the original series 2 that so many people missed out on , the lucha bros supreme figs are all absolutely bangers ( the Walmart sting is a different story to me but I think I’m in the minority on that one) but the fact that I have 2 of almost everyone on the supremes a loose set and moc set, and I have to worry about if the soft goods will stain the premium figure witch it is a very very good 1.5 figures or even 2 in one it just sucks that there is a chance even before I get it out the box that it’s already stained . Mattel I agree with you has QC issues as well and with the price point we are paying for these figures I would hope it gets worked out . For some ungodly reason I decided in January to open a separate bank acct that I use for wrestling figures ( to be fair though also for what my daughter collects All different kinds of toy lines ) but the amount I have spent since January I don’t even wanna say the number but it’s not much north of but it is north of 8k . Now I am very blessed as well as work my you know what off to provide a lovely life for my daughter as I am a single dad with full custody, I work at the office while she’s at school and work from home from 4 to 11 pm or later 6 days a week . 7 am to 11 at night some form of family business I am working and I don’t have any other vices or habits so I am able to spend money on what I’m passionate about, but man could you imagine being a child and trying to keep up with collecting wrestling figures and having everyone you want , just to have loose boots or extremely loose elbow joints ( Jazzwares) or some of the many other issues with the products that we as a community pay up for , a elite figure in store is 24$ in store and even with code MDT ringside with shipping on a new elite is 30$ or more , we have supported wrestling figure stores , manufacturers and everyone in between, they owe us to fix the issues that take away from some of the greatest wrestling figures ever made !!!! I mean football figures Brad God I’m such an idiot !!!!! But seriously that is where I am at on the issues and for aGOSH SAKES WALMART CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME OF THE DAMN FIGURES IN THE STORES ? In June, I got the new Top Picks Gunther, tried to make the legs do a split, and each time I make that figure do a split, it feels like the ball joint will snap. Also, the right leg kicks forward farther than the other on my Gunther figure, which is absurdly awkward.

The figures now look better than ever in many ways and the double jointed pinless arms are wonderful, but the lower halfs seem hit or miss. My 111 Ricochet for example has one hip joint that's too tight to even move without twisting the ball joint right off. I needed boiling water to even get him into a neutral stance.

I can barley bend the knees on my pretty deadly figures, and every single elite I get , it has that leg kicking forward problem , and there’s also a problem with the boot swivel, sometimes u have to heat it up , and pop it off and shave some of the socket from the boot and pop it back on for it to work , I also do that with the legs

@spragoo I recently got the Eddie and Cena smackdown 4 pack, and those are some of the stiffest legs I've ever had. Took the hair dryer to them and still way too stiff. I have the network spotlight Dean Ambrose with the same albeit older and pinned leg mold and its butter. I only find the newer figures without pinless joints are kinda gummy, but honestly, some time in the freezer usually fixes it

Usually I try to smooth out the ball joints with the newer figures with a Dremel, even then it's annoying especially cause I have to be cautious about not taking off too much at a time, but this does help, and maybe I'm lucky but usually the pinless legs for me are fine, sometimes i heat them up first when I open them brand new and then they're good, only some of the new elites with pants or jeans mold like Eddie, Booker T, and Cena from the smackdown four pack really give trouble to me

Hell I had issues with a basic figure. It was a Reggie. Found out he is a St. Louis native so of course he is going in the collection. I knew my local Walmart had some but all the cards looked like shit. Found one chase but oh boy, blister was literally coming off the card. Okay though no problem I’ll just display him…..nope.
