Yes camera position and lighting - camera person tried (kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6vYZIaOicefi5I) but unfortunately, not good enough to use, better to stay on Matteo since only one camera, sadly for us and the great bass player. You'll notice audio only from the camera, not stage mixer feed, c'est la vie at least we all have this recording to enjoy :) @@aural_supremacy

I said the same thing! Major error from this lame cameraman. The bassist only appears briefly at 2:40 mark. His solo reminds me of Tal Wilkenfeld's solo during Beck's performance at Ronnie Scott's back in 2007...

Matteo is a fantastic player -- to state the obvious. What makes Beck's recording special, IMO, is the way it slowly builds up to an intense crescendo and then gently backs off, gracefully returning to the opening bends. The overall piece had a distinctive shape, or narrative. Even in the best covers, like this one, the transition from slow to fast and back isn't quite as smooth and controlled. Still very impressive though.

This is one of the most powerful and emotional songs Jeff Beck ever recorded. An instrumental piece that makes you wanna burst into tears and Matteo’s approach just doesn’t. Unfortunately Jeff’s touch cannot be matched nor replicated. Makes you realise why he was the guitarist’s guitarist, the one every other player looked up to for decades. Anyone can play the notes, nobody can do it the way he did. Don’t get me wrong, I like Matteo a lot and class him as a top player and a generational talent. I just think he tried to fill really big boots here and unfortunately he is going to be compared. Good news for him, I still haven’t heard anyone that really has filled Jeff’s boots…
