As a Mexican man (born in the US), this is the exact reaction I had trying this stuff out for the first time. I will definitely say that Mexican candy actually is super good now as an adult. However, being that I didn’t really step foot into Mexico to visit relatives until I was about 5, I will admit that it takes time to get used to it. I guess you can say that for a lot of foreign food. Also, Nick needs his own sitcom on Netflix.😅 I’d binge that show everyday.🤣

They are (well, no the Doritos and churrumais). But I get what you mean. These are "contemporary" mexican candy. Traditional Mexican candy would be like cocadas, jamoncillo, borrachitos, ate, fruta cristalizada, palanquets, pepitorias, alegrías... And so many more!! There is a huge variety of fruit, seeds and even cactus-based sweets that are not spicy or sour at all, but they are not sold outside of Mexico. Also, each region has its own sweets, so there are many more than the ones I mentioned!!

Being from Texas, I was exposed to Mexican candy at a young age. It's an acquired taste for many, but I love it. I especially enjoy chamoy. One of my favorite Boba drinks was recommended by a Mexican called Mangonada and it's made with chamoy and tajín and it's so yummy. Yes, I know Boba is Taiwanese, but this one had a Mexican twist on it and it's amazing ❤
