Hello friends! This is just an humble tribute to one of my favorite players. I falled in love with Holdsworth music since I heard this song on the album "Believe it" by Tony Williams. Many thanks to my guitar buddy Daniele Raciti for the backing track, check out his channel!

Holdsworth with a Gambale nod. Or Gambale with a Holdsworth nod. Or Matteo with stunning eclectic bones. I loved his Room 335 collaboration but somehow this Fred take provides the most nectar to my ears. Simply addictive / moody / melancholy... Naturally it helps that Fred was such an awesome composition in the first place.

@WAFFEN COLLIDER Marshall is great but no soul, no taste, nuance or groove.... not like this kid... and Matteo is a very good composer... Marshall has phenomenal technical facility too but Marshall sounds bored where this kid has a passion for music that you can hear ! Matteo also goes on tour and takes it to the stage.. I don't know if Marshall Harrison plays live... and if he does it's very little cuz I've never seen any footage !!!

Sono solo un commento fra i tanti, uno di quelli che a 46 anni suonati, cresciuto a suon di Weather Report, Miles Davis, Jaco Pastoriu, Uzeb, Allan Holdsworth, Johan Scoffield, Dave Weckl, Greg Howe, Victor Wooten etc….di musicisti ne ha ascoltati un casino, ma quando ascolti un ragazzo così giovane che mette una tecnica sopraffina ed una pulizia sublime in un pezzo storico del caro Allan (non di pincopallo!!), non puoi che inchinarti….mille complimenti Matteo! Un pollice verso ad un video simile significa soltanto che non hai capito un cazzo, al di la del genere musicale che ti pace ascoltare….io posso non apprezzare un genere musicale e posso anche non riuscire ad apprezzare la musica di Holdsworth perché, oggettivamente non è facilmente fruibile, ma non puoi non vedere come si muovono le mani e non solo, perché non è solo tecnica meccanica ed estrema pulizia ma anche profonda conoscenza dell’armonia e non da ultimo figure ritmiche incredibili! In questo video ci sono miliardi di figure ritmiche, divisione dei 4/4 in tutti i modi possibili immaginabili…c’è tecnica meccanica ma anche tanta tecnica musicale ritmica ed armonica!! Pochi minuti di questo pezzo sono un vero e proprio trattato di musica, un mix di stili, tecniche e generi musicali, il tutto conditi dal tocco personale di un musicista che in questo modo sta creando il suo stile al pari di tutti i grandi che appena li ascolti, anche ad occhi chiusi e senza sapere chi stia suonando dici "è lui!". Tu che metti un pollice verso, prova a capire quanta musica, quanta armonia, quanta tecnica meccanica, quante figure ritmiche ci sono e tutto immerso in una pulizia superba….non una nota sporca….e solo dopo pensa quanto sei idiota per aver messo un pollice verso! Matteo non ci sono parole…sei un treno che può mettere paura a qualsiasi musicista, figurarsi agli pseudo musicisti che hanno imparato a fare 4 scale e si credono musicisti mettendo un pollice verso!

Dear Matteo, when you're so young and already one of the most fabulous guitarist in the History, (And IMHO the equal of that poor and late Allan....) endowed with such a musical genius and a totally extravagant mastery of his instrument, I don't think it's necessary to be so modest.
