I would really recommend watching my video on 'How to Cut a THROUGH DOVETAIL by HAND' before watching this video. Of all the kazillion half blind dovetail videos I've watched, this was the most informative. Good work!

I put you and Frank Klausz cutting the lapped dovetails in the queue next to each other and watched them both a couple of times one after the other. Rather fascinating and educational. Hope that doesn't insult you; it's quite remarkable.

Thanks again. Great video. When you reference a hair over can you specify if it's a blond, red, or brunette hair. I like to keep my work with plumb nearly tolerances.

Very nice job once again, thoroughly enjoying the joint cutting series. I was having flashbacks at 14.20, I was doing something very similar and stuck the corner of my chisel right into the end of my thumb.

have you seen that rob cosman has a tool called the kerf x-10. It finishes the angled cut. I haven't got a clue how it works but would be worth having a look. oh and keep up the good work.

@Gwyd136 жыл бұрын
Looked like you were using a Japanese pull saw on some of those cuts. How do you get fret saw blades thin enough to fit in the kerf?
@MattEstlea6 жыл бұрын
They’re blades from a company called Pegas. Roughly 14tpi. Just make sure you get their feet saw blades and not coping saw blades, the latter are a lot thicker.

I like your vids, well explained. Could you do a video on offset cock beading for lapped dovetail (curved) drawers fronts? Also offset (so the tail and pins sit proud 3/4mm) trough dovetail joints?
@Theiftanlazx Жыл бұрын
I apologise for such a silly question, but I get confused when I try to mark the face side and edge of my work. I made this joint today and marked the face side, but when I finished it was on the wrong side, and I am not sure why. Can someone explain what face side/edge refer to?
